An Intellectual Mind

Intelligence is the capacity to understand and apply wisdom to problem-solving.

Intelligence has been defined in several ways. First intelligence is a cognitive process involving rational and abstract thinking. Second, it is the goal-directed and purposeful, which means that all intelligent activities are planned to reach a self-determined goal. Finally, it involves social competence to help individuals adjust to their environmental surroundings.
  • Intelligence is the innate general cognitive capacity (Galton).
  • Intelligence is the ability to think abstractly (Terman).
  • Intelligence is what the intelligence tests test (Boring).
  • Intelligence is a particular instance of biological adaptation (Piaget).
  • Intelligence is a person's capacity for goal-directed adaptive behavior (Steinberg and Salter).
Intelligence is the word we use to describe mental ability. Intelligence is the capacity to understand and apply wisdom to the knowledge you are exposed to. There are as many different ways to characterize intelligence as there are different types and forms of information implying on our senses. Our intelligence with regard to any given type of information is a function of a) our capacity to recognize and interpret patterns, and b) our consequent ability to use the perceived information.

An intellectual mind is contextual. Whether someone is "intelligent" or not depends entirely on what you are asking them to accomplish with their brain. Intelligence is continuing with life no matter what and never allow what you can´t do interfere with what you can. It is like that "ripples-on-the-water" metaphor, it is our connectedness to the world around us that makes whatever intelligence we have truly useful to ourselves and to others; connected, by a sort of resonance between our cognitive and effective dimensions and the actual world we co-inhabit with those around us.

There’s “raw intelligence”; just like a kind of tablet, one already completed and preserved inside you. Just like spring overflowing its box or the freshness in the center of the chest. Such intelligence is fluid, like fountainhead from within you, flowing out. If curiosity is a sort of raw intelligence, it can sprout such creative intelligence to spur innovation. And this raw intelligence can be sharpened via continuous learning, to harness the differentiated capabilities for achieving goals.

Emotional intelligence is also a key component of an intellectual mind. There are as we all know, varying levels of intelligence; a mature reaction to a given situation will determine your level of emotional intelligence. An EQ directly decides one’s adaptability, empathy, and maturity.

Paradoxical intelligence is emergent; as a type of critical intelligence to deal with today's VUCA dynamic: It is the process to define as a statement that seems contradictory, unbelievable, ambiguous, that may actually be true in fact, and you can think through multi-dimensional angles to gain cognizance.

The character defines who you are, the vision drives where you want to go, the value questions why you do what you are doing, and the intelligence decides how you reach the destination. Either individual, or business, change the game is the mindset, and contemporary intelligence is contextual and multi-dimensional.
