Pier2Pier

Ocean opens our eyes to see further on the horizon and inspires us to think more profoundly and appreciate Mother Nature amazingly.

Ocean is all about the changes, the flows, and ebbs, the turbulence of waves, and the tiny drop of water. Whether you are tourists or local residents, many of us enjoy the ocean view. Standing on the sea shore, or hanging around at the piers, watching the ocean water wave in and out; listening to the sea, and what mother nature intends to tell.

Both New York City and San Francisco have a rich history of piers that have played important roles in their cities' development.

New York City piers are known for their industrial history and as major points of arrival for immigrants. Many of them have been converted into public parks and recreational spaces in recent years. When you walk along the Hudson River back, or hang around at the piers, either for going tourism or participating in the conference, the ocean makes you feel open and inclusive. But this year, a lot of construction is going on at the different piers, and we believe there will be more entertaining areas when those projects are finished.

San Francisco piers, are a part of the Port of San Francisco, running along the Embarcadero. They have served various purposes, from hosting office spaces, water taxi services, and cruise terminals, to housing cultural and recreational facilities like the Exploratorium. Each offers its own unique character, attractions, and views of the city's iconic landmarks and the San Francisco Bay.

There are sunshine days and windy or rainy days in different seasons, the Pacific Ocean changes the scenes, and people can capture different views and participate in different activities, from science to art; social gatherings to cruise tourism, etc.

While they might have some differences in their historical and current uses, both cities' piers share a common feature: they are integral parts of their cities' waterfront and history, there are lots of fun places to visit, great activities to participate in, and gourmet food to taste. Ocean opens our eyes to see further on the horizon and inspires us to think more profoundly and appreciate Mother Nature amazingly.
