In the rapidly evolving landscape of robotic technology solutions, the more novel the applications become, the more creative we must be from a design, development, and testing perspective.
In mid-October, Northern California just started entering the charming autumn season with an enriched color theme and a soothing environment.
I took the local train, heading towards a suburb city - Santa Clara to participate in the "Robo Business Conference and Exposition." This two-day event brought together professionals, innovators, and companies in the robotics and automation sector. The conference facilitators were very friendly, welcoming me to this professional event with conference passes and meeting introductions.
I participated in a few keynote presentations, and also walked through the expo hall; the diverse audience looked energetic, with eager to keep learning the new technologies; I believe they were thinkers, designers, engineers, entrepreneurs, or other IT-related professionals who came here to learn, grow, and innovate together.
There were so many workshops and seminars spread in dozens of meeting rooms at different time frames, perhaps making you feel a bit saturated. I decided to watch the presentations related to the vision and trend of robotic technology, as well as the business pitfalls facing the robotic technology industry. I was impressed by the video presentation about how the robot hand can clean up the dining table, it dumps the dirty garbage in the trash can; but recognizes the useful stuff, and puts things in the right place. In fact, AI-enabled robot solutions are one of the themes for the conference this year.
In the expo hall, I saw companies demonstrating their robotic solutions, mainly focusing on automation and precision in manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, supply chain/logistics, or space industries. Some robotic hands help to sort through merchandise; others provide healthcare services/solutions, work in the warehouse, or produce industry goods. I think the conference is more educational than entertaining, Honestly, I expected to see lots of fun robots walking back and forth to greet me and cheer me up, but unfortunately, they didn't show up.
Recently, I visited a lot of famous urban cities across the world, from East to West, in Asia, Europe, and North America, companies at various conferences showcased their robot solutions, I saw vivid robots in different places, and many of them can chat, play instruments, or produce goods, serving different industries. But very few robots can walk around; in fact, robot mobility is one of the challenges IT professionals intend to solve now.
