Innovative leadership is the ability to inspire, to create, and to maintain the social and psychological conditions and the environment in which people are able to reach their highest potential. 

 Leadership is an influence driven by both substance and style. Unconventional leadership differs from traditional leadership through its flexibility, decision-making authority, and tolerance for change. 

Traditional leadership often involves a more formal hierarchical structure, authorized positions, and social control. The characteristics of innovative leadership show the dispositions such as vision, agility, competency, courage, and intellectual curiosity, etc.

Creative individuals also display autonomy, seeking independence in their thoughts and actions. They have a mastery of a particular domain and show interest in different perspectives . They also exhibit self-assurance and sensitivity to problems. 

Unconventional leadership is being flexible enough to adapt to the situation and the players involved. It means doing unexpected, unconventional things to lead effectively.
