Vision & Reality

So hold the truth like sunlight, and hold the earth like open space. Let vision be your compass, let reality be your road.

I
sketched a skyline in my mind,
neon lights spilling into open landscape,
listen to the future calling me in-
colors.
Painted great panoramas,
convey the seasonal theme.

Vision says,
"Fly higher,
reach the sky and sail the seas,"
Reality whispers,
"Feet on ground,
breathe slow, believe."

One shows the stars like lanterns,

the other shows the frustrations we feel,
Between the map and footsteps,

we learn what’s true and real.
Vision vs. reality —

a balance that won't stay still,
We build bridges out of both until -

chat becomes realm.

I wrote the story in ink that wouldn’t fade,
Imagined grand parades of joy along -

the plans I made.
But streets were paved with detours,

and storms erased the signs,
I bent the rules of what I knew to -

find where purpose hides.
The mirror told me stories,

that the ceiling never knew,
Reality had principles —

it taught me how to move.

Is vision a compass pointing at the sun,
Reality's the weather vane,

that tells you when to run.
So take the pulse of both sides—

one to steer, one to stand,
Let longing be the engine,

let truth be where you land
So hold the truth like sunlight,

and hold the earth like open space,
Let vision be your compass,

let reality be your road.
