Learning to Forget

Time can heal. The wounds should fade, I’ll embrace the journey, though I felt heavy inside.

In the quiet of the night,

I listen to your whisper,

Echoes of the past,

And the memories linger.

But I’m finding strength in letting go,

Each moment a step on this road,

I'd like to move forward.

I’m learning to forget,

the bitterness of yesterday,

Unraveling the threads that held me in dismay.

With every sunrise,

I’ll shed the tears at the bottom of my mind,

Finding freedom in the fresh beginning,

wondering at the hilltop or valley deep.

Pages turning softly,

stories left behind,

Lessons in the past,

but I won’t be confined.

Every scar’s a chapter,

but it doesn’t define,

The inspiration of tomorrow,

the light that’s still mine.

Time can heal.

The wounds should fade,

I’ll embrace the journey,

Though I felt heavy inside.

With an open mind,

I’ll face the unknown,

In the depths of silence,

I’ll find my way to go forward.

So here’s to the moments,

the lessons they taught,

I’m unloading the burdens,

I’m untying the messy threads.

With each step I take,

I’m lighter, I’m free,

In the story of forgetting,

I’m riding up to the next wave of changes.
