Parallel or Perpendicular

Parallel or perpendicular, under the same sky’s frame. We write the story’s highlight, and every line our authentic self.

Two lines on a page,

they travel on and on,
Silent like a change beat,

at the edge of dawn.
Side by side, but they go alone,

they never bend,
Holding steady position,

a quiet kind of influence .

Is it comfort in the sameness

Or fears of the unknown?
Do we walk beside each other,

or cross to claim our own?

Parallel or perpendicular —

which way shall we go?
Side by side in the same light,

or striking sparks and letting go?
Parallel, steady as a rhythm,

perpendicular, a flame,
Both shapes of what we’re seeking —

different ways to stake a claim.

A line that cuts across,

sharp as truth, it carves the air,
Meet you in the moment,

takes the risk to dare.
Right angles make a promise —

change is written clear,
Every intersection teaches-

how to hold what’s dear.

Do we crave the safety of-

a path that keeps us whole,
Or crave the freedom,

that alters every corner of the world ?

Maybe some days we run in lines that go into-,
Content with shared horizons,

loving from a hush.
Other nights we need the break,

 the sudden shifting view,
A perpendicular crossing,

that remakes our righteousness

Not every meeting needs-

a heavy dose of attention to be true,
Not every step is the only road for you.
We are geometry of feeling,

 Ideas of give and take,
Angles of forgiveness,

straight lines we remake.

Parallel or perpendicular —

let our choices show,
We can walk beside each other,

or meet and watch us grow.
Parallel, steady as a team,

 perpendicular, the spark,
Both ways hold -

a kind of magic lighting up the dark.

Two lines on a page,

whatever path we choose,
May we draw with courage,

may we draw with truthful feelings.
Parallel or perpendicular,

under the same sky’s frame,
We write the story’s highlight,

and every line our authentic self.
