From Then to Now

 From then to now, I’m more than what I was, more than every “not yet” and every almost. I found my way through the doubt I outgrew—from then to now, this is me, and I’m mature and amplifying influence.

I still remember winter on-
the edge of coast line,
The way the stars looked dim,
when you wouldn’t look around.
Back when every “someday” felt-

 heavy in my minds.

We were just trying to understand,

who we are, who we’d become.

And all the nights we doubted,
but we kept the energy recharged.
Turning pain into a lesson,
turning fear into courageous influence.

From then to now,

 I learned to be agile somehow,
Took the puzzled pieces, 

made them into the art of masterpieces.
Every step I didn’t think I’d make, 

I took—
From then to now, 

I’m standing strong, 

get inspired…
From then to now, 

no more backward, 

just move forward.
I make continuous influence,

out of the afterglow of truth.

I watched the road change colors under-

 different skies,
met a thousand shadows, 

that made me feel frustrated.

but I learned to -

identify and brighten them up. 

 What was meant to pass through, 

what was meant to get rid of.
And how to hold -

my value and belief without-

 hiding what I truly feel.

 Yeah, I fell, but I didn’t fold, 

I rose instead,
Took my efforts and time, 

built my purpose and vision out of-

 everything I dreaded.

 If you asked me what changed, 

I’d say “I chose myself,”
I stopped waiting for -

the world to tell me what to do.
Let the outdated knowledge fade out,

like the ice melt off.
This new rhythm’s mine, 

just let it grow

From then to now, I’m more than what I was,
More than every “not yet” and every almost.
I found my way through the doubt I outgrew
From then to now, this is me,

and I’m mature and amplifying the influence.
From then to now, 

watch me turn shadow into-

 the light of wisdom—
Oh, from then to now… 

I’m ready, I’m growing.

 From then to now—

I made it, things won’t be the same.
