Initiatives

Holistic management is about applying systems thinking to manage resources, recognizing initiatives which take a comprehensive approach to radically advance human society.

With high velocity and continuous disruption, building an innovative organization or society is not an overnight phenomenon, but a long-term planning and dedicated effort.

The more objectively you could identify critical concerns, frame the right problems; the more effortlessly you can align, integrate, and optimize the important business factors inside an organization, the closer you can deal with complexity, accelerate performance and lead changes.

It’s important to create common rationale between different perspectives, understand the interconnectivity between parts and the whole: The term transformational change carries with it a sense of "evolution" -a renewed understanding of the future of the organization. It’s really important to be able to assess to what extent the organization has the capacity to change; in terms of people, finances and manageability. It is critical to be able to 'step outside' of the smaller thinking box, and adopt different perspectives to gain an in-depth understanding.

Ask what’re the disruptive trends; how your organizations lead progressive changes; how the proposed transformation supports your understanding of the corporate purpose and vision. We must have a different view, co-create innovative ideas to produce quality products or services to delight customers by connecting the dots between science and arts.

It requires a different kind of control, the control of desired outcomes, not overly controlling the process of how: The digital era encourages innovation. Sometimes you need to get out of the box to understand things holistically; other times, you perhaps should work cross the box, diagnose the causes of problems from different angles. Therefore, business management shouldn’t over-control, but encourage people to think differently, take alternative approaches; keep learning and practicing to produce the desired outcome.

The comprehensive understanding of complexity requires both cross-domain knowledge and breakdown of the silo mentality, leveraging different thought processes to handle problems holistically. Competent leaders and professionals reveal courage, present the ideas with confidence, show both flexibility and discipline to solve problems and produce expected outcomes coherently.

It requires learning from all the right areas of expertise to explore the better way for running the business
: Part of taking knowledge seriously as a corporate asset involves assigning responsibility for knowledge within the organization. Look at the organization chart to find out where in the organization the requested expertise might be sitting. It is important to identify knowledge management related problems, prioritize cross-disciplinary efforts and take a phased approach to address objectives, apply interdisciplinary management to gain an understanding of nonlinearity as the very characteristic of running a high performance organization.

There is a shift from more traditional knowledge management approaches to techniques that involve enhancing the "flow" of knowledge within an organization to improve access and use. In face of fierce competition and frequent disruptions, Forward-looking organizations should feel blessed if they have their employees who are motivated to update knowledge, learn from each other, utilize their full potential, helping the business build long-term advantages.

Holistic management is about applying systems thinking to manage resources, recognizing initiatives which take a comprehensive approach to radically advance human society. The goal is to build an organization that in times of change, addresses internal or external and internal factors within the environment that might prevent the organization from achieving or over-achieving, in order to accelerate business performance ultimately.
