Overseers

 This role would likely be positioned within HR, organizational development, or strategy functions, reporting to senior leadership.

An organizational capability overseer such as an enterprise architect, business executive, or board director plays a significant role in assessing the suitability, differentiation, or maturity of enterprise capabilities. 



Key Responsibilities: Identifying and defining organizational capabilities: Defining capabilities in concrete, behavioral terms; working to determine which capabilities are critical for executing business strategy


Assessing current capabilities: Conducting capability audits across the organization; identifying capability gaps between current and desired states.


Developing capability-building initiatives: Creating plans to strengthen key capabilities; collaborating with different functions on implementation.


Aligning capabilities with strategy: Ensuring capabilities evolve to support changing business needs. Advising business management on capability implications of strategic decisions.


Monitoring and measuring capabilities: Regularly assessing capability levels and progress; establishing KPIs and metrics for tracking capability development.


Fostering a capability-focused culture: Promoting awareness of key capabilities across the organization. Integrating capabilities into talent management processes.


Skills and Qualifications: Strong understanding of business strategy and operations. Experience in organizational development, talent management, or related fields.


Reporting and advising: Providing updates to leadership on capability status and development. Recommending actions to address capability gaps or leverage strengths.


Analytical and assessment skills: Project management abilities; change management expertise; strong communication and influencing skills; strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
