Initiativesofreinvention

It is more important than ever to engage profound leaders to reimagine, architect, design, and help the enterprise chart the course and set a better sail for the voyage of business transformation.

Compared to the traditional organization as the mechanical system, organizations today are like the organic living system which keeps evolving to adapt to business reality with rapid change and frequent disruptions.

The organizational ecosystem dynamism consists in being able to break away from static or stale, being fluid and proactive in problem-solving. Organizations today need to be firm enough for creating quality products or services, but also fluid enough to interact with the expanded business environment with an accelerated speed.

It’s important to use architecture as the box of tools which helps to make an objective assessment of business management: Business architecture addresses all aspects of the enterprise by capturing the roles, responsibilities, processes, functions, structures, etc, needed for the enterprise to achieve its goals. It helps the organizational management develop a clear understanding upon how the business works and what their goals and strategy are. The value is not in the tool box itself but in how to use it for improving business effectiveness and efficiency.

Business management must be able to take the vision of the company, use architecture as a compass to discover a path and be responsible for the tactical execution in concert with different areas of the company. The real value of business architecture is about keeping the priorities in balance, bridge “as is” and “to-be” state of the business, facilitate strategic communications, and increase visualization of business initiatives.

It’s important to recognize patterns and be able to untap hidden leverage to make a significant impact on accelerating business performance: Take a deep look at the underlying business functions and processes; take a wider look around at what’s going on outside the organization; identify opportunities and risks. Good management practice is the ability to reduce business friction, tensions, and conflicts that arise, harness cross-functional communication and collaboration, and develop the potential of the organization.

Leverage advanced analysis tools to do a comparative assessment of decision criteria - both quantitative and subjective, concurrent across many options. Find ways to leverage business sentiment to initiate meaningful dialogues, open communication across the enterprise to orchestrate business progress; be able to reframe circumstances, alter or change the frame of reference. Understanding a business system is a necessary precondition for effective intervention. and suggest actions.

Individual contributors see where they fit in the work and it can bring a great sense of purpose to their work:
The digital era upon us is about people. To run a holistic business, it’s important to understand organizational purpose and employee purpose. When strategic complexity can be “visualized” in a better way, people are much easier to define their role in the organizations and how to unleash their potential. Managers evolve, encourage people to give feedback or even co-make strategy. Consider how awesome the synergy of a highly innovative organization could create, to make people happier, customers delightful and the business more purposeful.

Business change is hyper accelerating, especially as it relates to the people and value creation dimensions. For the majority of employees, their "purpose" is to feel accomplished as they are doing meaningful work to not only make themselves feel good but also create value to the organizations and societies. Leaders should motivate people and make them feel more engaged with their work and produce solid outcomes.

Organizations need to take a structural approach, investigate different paths, shape solid forms, to drive changes at steadfast paces. Barriers can be daunting, yet overcome them, and don’t let them cloud your vision. It is more important than ever to engage profound leaders to reimagine, architect, design, and help the enterprise chart the course and set a better sail for the voyage of business transformation.
