Research for Global Education

The philosophy of education involves philosophical reflection on the nature, humanity and goals of education.

Education is both a previlege and a liability for the global citizens of modern societies to gain knowledge and build skills for surviving and advancing humanity. Education shouldn't become a constraint to limit one's imagination or the status quo to stifle changes or our collective human progress.

Research and analysis design in global education involves addressing philosophical issues, determining effective research methods, and understanding how research translates into policy. It also requires understanding the trends in global education, such as increased enrollment and the impact of political changes.

Philosophical Problems and Research Tasks: Educational research raises philosophical issues that influence policy and practice. These include:

-Determining the best way to conduct research and translate results into education policy

-Deciding whether education research should be modeled on natural sciences

-Addressing the differences between competent research in social sciences versus natural sciences

-Considering whether educational research can be objective or if it is inevitably subjective

Inclusion and Reform Efforts: In the 20th century, education was seen as a primary instrument in providing equality, requiring revisions of textbooks and changes in admission criteria. In the 21st century, reform efforts have focused on integrating formal and informal, general and personalized education and encouraging lifelong learning, in order to adapt to the rapidly changing environment and harness innovation.
