Being innovative is a state of mind, authenticity matters; accountability matters, agility matters.

Innovation is to transform great ideas for achieving commercial value. Innovation for the sake of innovating is exhaustive because what would be the purpose? Environment either encourages or discourages innovation, the ease or difficulties inherent in surviving. 

The evolution of innovation only exists in an open environments or the ecosystem that creates insight, connects all relevant dots if only it makes sense; takes advantage of all sources of creativity in a fresh way and makes a leap of innovation management to the next level of maturity.

Innovation and authenticity: Creativity is an individual activity, it is by nature, unique to each person. Consider authenticity to be a positive outcome of enlightened and informed motivation, it spurs creative thoughts and comes up with fresh ideas. To put it briefly, authenticity means being true to one's own personality, spirit, or character. When you are authentic, keep your mind flowing, release the positive energy, out of this is the freedom of choice and the plenty seeds of creativity.

Authenticity and creativity are mutually reinforcing with each other. Authenticity fosters creativity, and creativity expresses authenticity. Being authentic means to be who you are, be yourself; keep discovering yourself – your talent, strength, your unique being. It has to do with discovering that source within and bringing it out into the world, finding yourself to be not one but a multitude of selves, some more articulate and resilient, some more out-of-the-box and vulnerable. It’s about being open minded, gaining fresh knowledge by learning, interacting, so you get a better chance to develop multidimensional creativity.

Innovation and accountability: Either taking initiative to innovate or change, accountability is part of personal integrity. Innovation has a generally low success rate; there is no “one size fits all” success formula for innovation management success. It is really hard to build a consistently innovative company. Innovation is not serendipity; but a managed process; on one hand, build an open environment in which people can do things freely, keep idea flow frictionlessly; encourage alternative problem-solving; on the other hand, they need to be held accountable for idea verification or implementation and improve overall innovation success rate.

In the business setting, it’s important to align innovation initiatives, processes, resources, talent, and integration/implementation plans with the strategic goals and objectives. Innovation is often teamwork, transparency matters; accountability matters, collaboration matters. Accountability is conducted inward, in that the team respects and supports all team members while successfully completing the work, and takes the responsibility to ensure you do your best to bring about a good outcome.

Innovation and agility: Agility is the ability to "pivot" and change direction in response to business dynamics or to create the market opportunity. Agility is related to many things such as flexibility, changeability, robustness, sensitivity, comprehensiveness, speed, responsiveness, etc. Being agile is a mindset of improvement. Agile is a fantastic way of working to involve everyone in the process of creation and delivery. The organization must allow for learning, experimentation, and failure, the business with agility encourages innovative thinking to enable business growth and alternative problem-solving.

Creativity is more of a cultural thing rather than being tied to a delivery process. Usually, organizational culture stifles creativity and innovation, not the frameworks used to deliver new products and services. The culture of agility inspires changes, advocates teamwork and flexibility, motivates teams to become more adaptive and innovative in response to unpredictable or unanticipated circumstances. By manifesting creativity from an individual endeavor to a collective team effort, the horizon of creativity is expanded, and the creativity effect is amplified.

What elements did past civilizations possess that added to innovation? What’re the outlooks for the upcoming journey to build a more advanced society? How to keep connecting dots for generating great ideas and exploring the” art of possible”? When the world is catching up with the most advanced mindsets, stepping into the further-looking perspective, aligned with a positive attitude and high aptitude, innovating and inventing great products or services, fitting into the change dynamic, and integrating into upward holisms, it makes a leap of collective human progress.
