It is possible that at some points on the journey, we all experience so-called digital “super-consciousness,” with seamless collaboration of humans and machines; the transcendent movement to reach the next level of human and machine collective progress.
Business Intelligence refers to computer-based techniques used in spotting, digging out, and analyzing business data, to achieve business value. Today’s digital ecosystem environment is dynamic, complex, and uncertain, there are always different complexities at a different time or dimensions, and business intelligence is an effective tool to improve value creation. The tool amplifies the mind: business intelligence is not a replacement, but a collaborator: Organizations are composed of business objects such as people, processes, technologies, relationships, etc. In the context of an organization, information is the representation of organizational objects and processes, it could be refined into business intelligence. Information Technology plays a fundamental role in deploying and operating new ecosystems, circulating information within the ecosystem seamlessly, doing data-based analytics, taking smart actions, and responding to business changes continuously.
Business Intelligence is the understanding of the relationships between these objects, processes & patterns and the derivation of associated value for the good of the organization. Although BI is faster and more precise in doing data statistics, sampling, and pattern discovery, it has also become better and better in analyzing complex issues on hand; it has its own limitation; human ingenuity and judgment guide its power. Human creativity is not the opposite of analysis, but complementary to generating fresh knowledge, opening new perspectives, make certain breakthroughs.
The future is a co-creation: Human and machine intelligence working together unlock possibilities beyond our capabilities: The more complex the situation is, the more different approaches and role gaming are needed to reach for understanding. Business intelligence could address issues clearly to a certain degree; it might focus on the “hard side” of things with certain data calculations. But human intelligence would sense the “soft side,” the paradox sometimes. People usually demonstrate introspection. They can understand the inner nature of things or of seeing intuitively.
As business intelligence advances, the question of superconsciousness arises. We must approach this with respect and caution: Unconscious, subconscious, conscious, and superconscious are the four states of mind. With emerging lightweight digital technologies and overwhelming growth of information, forward-thinking organizations declare they are in the information management business to improve business competency and long-term growth. Business intelligence resembles human consciousness to deal with real-world problems practically. When business intelligence shares some of our workloads, we need to become more clear-minded; and learn to create an inner space of clear calmness in the storming mind of thoughts, emotions, sensations, dreams, and imagination. So we could develop creativity and reach a higher level of super consciousness, shaping the bigger and better picture of our contemporary world. Superconscious will act on how we see things as they could be (superconscious) In short, humans need to be the masters for shaping a benevolent and advanced modern society.
With abundant information and advanced technology, organizations will be able to let themselves think not only of what exists but also of how they exist in the business world, being in the business world (conscious), and reach a state of higher maturity. It is possible that at some points on the journey, we all experience so-called digital “super-consciousness,” with seamless collaboration of humans and machines; the transcendent movement to reach the next level of human and machine collective progress.
