In today's work environment, it takes a lot of energy to break down old habits, outdated thought processes, get out of the comfort zone, and be able to do all things necessary to move forward.
The business growth cycle could be viewed as resulting in emergent means of clarifying a vision reflecting the “mind and soul” of the company to accelerate business execution via continuous balance cycles of participation, expansion, innovation, and optimization.
Be able to step outside of conventional understanding, explore the full cognition spectrum: Individually, the mind with self-discipline should be consciously trained so that they don't get disturbed too much and keep learning to expand the horizon with a growth mind. They are able to let themselves think not only of what exists (subconscious), how they exist in this world, being in the world (conscious), but also how one could possibly apply themselves in this world to change things for the better as they could be (superconscious).
Business professionals are able to listen and find out their own purpose, the purpose of their organization, the others' purpose, identify and respect, whether they agree with it or not, be non-judgmental, then they can connect, talk about it, discuss it and many times, they will get more insight and will look at it differently and be able to fine-tune their own purpose. Business leaders are able to step back from details and see patterns, generalization, standards, context, and a bigger picture. They are able to identify their own emotions and those of others; be more optimistic and open, and be able to step outside of conventional understanding, explore the full cognition spectrum.
Be able to execute-demonstrable evidence that the business is actually doing something to build differentiation: Businesses are becoming complex and uncertain, to survive and thrive. It is incumbent on the organization to prove its ability to create a unique and differentiated experience consistently. Organizations need to allow time for a number of creative activities or opportunities to suit different types of people. They are able to create an “integrated whole” by utilizing correct processes and harmonizing the underlying business relationships while creativity can be harnessed on how a novel object/event was materialized into the fresh reality.
When problems or organizations become overly complex, people get frustrated by not being able to achieve their tasks easily, they get stuck in their comfort zone, the business gets stagnated. Organizations should be able to rejuvenate creative energy, keep building differentiated abilities, be able to execute, solve problems alternatively. Once the staff appreciates their objectives and with a purpose of unity, all the staff should be able to implement their strategic planning appropriately.
Be able to make assessments of strategic flexibility, as well as the overall organizational maturity: Every business is different, and they are at the different stages of business maturity. Nowadays information technology is highly powerful but nimble and lightweight, like the “superglue” to weave all necessary business elements into the building blocks of the organizational competencies. This allows them to experiment with new business models, keep business flowing, lubricate processes, and digitize the touch points of the customer experience with speed.
Organizations can self-adapt and self-renew, being able to reconfigure its own structure and change its own behavior in adaptation to environmental changes dynamically. Organizations achieve strategic flexibility by developing module design architecture and capabilities with quality and reusability. An optimized business with structural flexibility helps to empower people, enforce mutual trust, enhance cross-functional collaboration, to respond to change fast and get things done smoothly.
In today's work environment, it takes a lot of energy to break down old habits, outdated thought processes, get out of the comfort zone, and be able to do all things necessary to move forward. The management style should shift from “command and control,” out-of-date disjointed top-down management paradigms to a large dash of “freedom to manage,” with fluidity and some “soft touch.” Translating strategic intent into meaningful action and making the needed changes stick can be difficult. But doing it frequently and at a fast pace, even more so, worth the effort.
