Leadership is about the future and direction. It is the ability to influence the values, mindsets, decisions, and actions undertaken by others. Leadership in the coming decade will need to be more innovative and distributed -the opposite of the command-and-control that has dominated the twentieth century. From top down, a leader with a far-sighted vision can change the course of the business by seeing beyond what all others see or by charting new revenue or growth through the creation of innovative products, services, business models or market. You have to adjust the assumptions, overcome the roadblocks in order to inspire creativity and catalyze innovation.
