Overall, the conferences are professional and educational, helping people get to know LA more deeply.
I was invited to participate in the LA Investment Summit 2024 in Long Beach. LA’s public transportation system is much more advanced than decades ago, it’s very convenient to take the subway, get off downtown, and head to the conference.
Los Angeles is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the nation containing more than a hundred cities, Long Beach is one of the biggest, with a beautiful ocean view and well-designed city landscape.
It’s been quite a while since the last time I visited here. The city was quiet in the early morning, I saw many folks going to different conferences as the city has great facilities for cultural events and activities. It was a sunshine day, lots of people headed to the oceanfront for outdoor activities.
The LA Summit was jointly hosted by the World Trade Center Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) In the early session of the conference, the various government officials made presentations about the city and investment environment. The purpose of the LA Summit is to connect international investors with local partners and provide practical intelligence for exploring, starting, or expanding businesses in Los Angeles
I met lots of local participants who work for public sectors such as local colleges, institutes, etc, but I didn’t see private investment companies in LA coming to the show. The conference sessions cover diverse areas such as innovation, global trading, supply chain, etc.

There are a few booths in the hallway, and presenters from a few local and global cities came here to introduce their cities and investment environment. In the lunch session, people chatted for a while and listened to the presentation to get to know more about the LA metropolitan area, and its vibrant ecosystem, offering strategic insights into leveraging global markets to fuel local prosperity and innovation.
Overall, the conferences are professional and educational, helping people get to know LA more deeply. I hope the conference can attract more innovators and professionals from different sectors to brainstorm and harness innovation. Due to the tight schedule, I skip the cocktail boat ride session after the meeting.
I also stopped by the other exhibition “AWE USA 2024, Long Beach, CA” which showcased apps and products in the gaming, entertainment, and media industry. That was also an interesting exhibition which attracted people all over the places coming to learn and entertain themselves.
