Beverly Hills hosts various art events throughout the year, and May is a vibrant time for art enthusiasts. On a sunny morning, I went to the Beverly Garden Park to participate in the art fair that showcased the variety of artwork of local and international artists. In the mid-morning, people across the LA metropolitan area started gathering around. There were hundreds of colorful art booths spread around the park. Over 100 artists exhibited their work, including oil or water ink paintings, glassware, sculptures, decorative pieces, and photography. Live music and food vendors enhanced the artistic experience there. I walked through the pool that had some plants and flowers. A few black and white birds swam around and greeted people coming to the show.
I observed the audience, who were very diverse, smiling, and hung around at different booths, appreciating artworks. I also saw a few female painters who painted their artworks in real time, some drew the natural world landscapes, and others painted human figures. It was a creative vibe in which people intended to express themselves via artistic works. The prices of the artwork varied, ranging from $10 to a couple of thousand dollars.
Every art booth was like an imaginary land in which the artists let their imagination fly high, using their color themes to paint the world they observed or felt. When walking through different exhibition booths, obviously, you knew those artworks came from the same artists in each booth, with a coherent individual tone. The glassware exhibited were vey colorful, unique and elegant, both functional and delightful; the paintings covered all categories such as human figures, different animals, nature landscapes, cartoon figures, etc, they looked vivid and different; the sculptures made of metal or other material were abstract, you might need imagine what they represent for, to fit different tastes; there were also some decorative pieces with fresh design to showcase artists' personal flavors.
At lunchtime, the sound of jazz music was very loud, and people relaxed themselves via artistic expression, ice cream, or worldwide food. Artists, collectors, and art lovers to connect and discuss their passions together.
The warm weather boosted up the creative energy of Los Angeles. The LA Art Show was one of the good social gathering events that celebrated creativity and vibrant culture.
