Impact of AWS summit, 2026, Los Angeles

  The conference was best understood as a builder-focused event that pushed cloud and AI toward real-world application and problem solving.

There are always many great conferences and culture events held in the metropolitan Los Angeles area. The AWS Summit Los Angeles 2026 was a one-day event focused on cloud, AI, security, and digital transformation. Its main impact was giving developers, IT leaders, and business teams a hands-on place to learn how AWS is being used for agentic AI, modernization, and industry-specific solutions.

When I walked through the large conference hall, the keynote speech just started, there were a few other presentations started concurrently.  The audience were avid learners and IT practitioners who spent a day here updating knowledge and building expertise. 

Keynotes, Customer Stories & Technical Sessions: The event brought together keynotes, customer stories, interactive labs, and technical sessions across many training sessions. AWS positioned it as a practical learning day where attendees could meet experts, network with peers, and explore topics from serverless computing to cloud migration and AI.

The presentations and training sessions: The conference covered data, agentic AI, security, and digital transformation. Interactive labs, code talks, and live demos gave attendees a hands-on experience for various industries such as entertainment, healthcare, retail, hospitality, transportation, etc. The discussion topics include such as: 

-Where the Enterprise should Bet the AI Platform Shift

-From Prompt to Production

-From Chaos to Clarity: Multi-Model Agents for Enterprise Workflow

-Moving AI agents from demo to deployment, reliability, observability, cost management, security

-GPU instance optimization, Elastic Fabric Adapter networking, storage for massive ML datasets

The focal point of the conference: AWS Summit Los Angeles 2026 showed how AI technology is moving from concepts to practical business tools. It brought together different levels of training sessions, hands-on demos, and expert talks centered on agentic AI, security, modernization, and digital transformation. A major highlight was the strong focus on agentic AI and interactive learning, including labs and live demos. The conference also emphasized industry-specific use cases and practical implementation rather than just product announcements. AWS also brought back GameDay-style experiences to make the event more immersive and builder-friendly.

The event’s impact was in making AWS’ latest technologies feel directly usable for teams building real systems. It gave attendees a place to learn from AWS experts, compare approaches with peers, and see how companies are applying cloud and AI to business problems effectively. 

Overall, AWS Summit Los Angeles 2026 was best understood as a builder-focused event that pushed cloud and AI toward real-world application and problem solving.

Sensational understanding

 The ability to understand sensations without direct experience challenges traditional views on cognition and emphasizes the role of context, prediction, and associative learning in shaping our perceptions. 

"Sensational understanding" encompasses the ways in which individuals comprehend and interpret sensory information, including the use of language and metaphor. The concept of "sensational understanding" can be explored through the lens of how we comprehend and interpret sensations, particularly in relation to language, cognition, and metaphorical expressions.


Interoception: Interoception refers to the mind's ability to perceive internal bodily sensations. This understanding plays a crucial role in how we interpret our emotions and physical states. It highlights the connection between bodily awareness and cognitive processes, suggesting that our internal sensations can shape our understanding of external stimuli.


Metaphorical Language: The use of metaphorical expressions ("feeling blue" or "gritty") illustrates how language about sensation can be understood through context and association rather than direct experience.  While the exact trajectory is difficult to predict, the computing language landscape is likely to continue evolving, with both consolidation and diversification playing important roles.

When it comes to the future of computing languages, the trends point towards a continued evolution and diversification, with both a decrease and an increase in the number of languages used in the field of computing.


Here are some key points about the potential future of computing languages:


Consolidation of Major Languages: The most widely used and influential programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, and JavaScript, are likely to remain prominent and continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of the computing industry. These major languages may see further adoption and become more ubiquitous in various computing domains, contributing to the consolidation of a smaller number of dominant languages.


Emergence of Domain-Specific Languages: Alongside the major general-purpose languages, there may be an increase in the development of specialized, domain-specific programming languages. This modern society steps into the new phase of digitalization by providing real-time information management solutions to conquer the dynamic, multidimensional business management challenge. The power of information is to enable people to make better faster decisions coherently, empower the organizational management with real-time insight across the company in ways never possible before. This software exhibition focuses on digital thinking, methodology, and solution for reinventing organizational management/society/culture.

MetaUniverse:
Dynamic, open space is digitized via advanced information technology, interdisciplinary collaboration, and open innovation. People constantly expand their digital footprints, break down silos, explore new opportunities, develop contents, learn, grow and innovate.

Cloud Computing: What business problems does cloud solve that can't be solved by more traditional forms of application and service delivery at a fraction of the cost and risk? Cloud provides the right opportunities to get out of the non-value adding business as soon as possible.

Big Data: Data influences human behavior, data enables the culture of innovation, data unleashes human potential. Now good data is about the freedom of choice; each piece of quality data is the truth. Technically, the Big Data solution need combine computer science, mathematics, statistical analysis, data visualization and even social science to gain insight and foresight about what customers need and what’s the future trend.

Advanced Analysis: Big-data analytics must be business led with the right mindset, time to value, and with effective data mining tools, as not all projects will be successful at finding the needle in the haystack. Information is overlaid onto the device (smartphone or glasses) to create an immersive experience where digital information alters the user's perception of the real world. It delivers visual elements, sound and other sensory information to the user through smart devices.

Due to the digital nature of hyper-connectivity and interdependence, software will become more interrelated as we move to a world of systems-of-systems in which constraints govern how and what we develop. Software development needs to bring up the most business value. Only customers can value the quality of the software. The Metaphorical Understanding about the Contemporary CIOs Multiple Personas

There are many interesting analogs to articulate the sophisticated role modern CIOs have to play, and they have to play well, to grow into the digital master.

Digital CIOs are the highly complex role, they must look at the future of business from both strategic planning and technology envisioning lens. They must look at where the business is today and where it will be in five to ten years and ensure that information & technology can enable that vision going forward. Contemporary CIOs are expected to play multiple personas; besides being the tactical IT manager, leadership is considered the top attribute for digital CIOs. Creativity and cognitive ability are both nature and nurtured to shape CIOs as "Chief Innovation Officer," and "Chief Insight Officer." Here is the metaphorical understanding of the contemporary CIO’s multiple personas.


CIOs as digital conductors: Forward-looking organizations are on the journey of digital transformation. Although it’s a collective leadership responsibility for both the senior executive team and BoD to lead business transformation and orchestrate a digital symphony. When it comes to IT and how it relates to business, this should be the CIO's role in conducting the digital music - not just the background music to support the melody; but playing a complex piece of the digital IT music sheet. The role of IT today for many organizations is a solutionary for business problems, an optimizer for business processes and capabilities, and an orchestrator for the digital transformation. The CIO as a conductor has to lead the in-house musicians and take into account the time lag of the orchestras in another time zone. They must simultaneously coordinate with distant contributors, otherwise, the music with jar the ears. IT is a critical note in the digital music sheet. There needs to be some in-depth technical understanding as well as business acumen. Take that away and you run the risk of the orchestra stopping altogether or, at least, playing the wrong tune! It is important for the CXOs to communicate seamlessly and work collaboratively in a business strategic planning and support capacity, to ensure that the information and IT services/solutions being delivered are what is needed for the business to play their music. Only business and IT work as a whole, the symphony can be orchestrated elegantly and harmoniously.


IT leaders and managers as gardeners: IT leaders should be like diligent gardeners, to take care of their plants (people, process, and technology). IT also needs to prune “the weed” regularly. Many IT organizations in legacy organizations or in legacy industries spend significant time, cost and resource to maintain the heavy systems or out of date apps. It's amazing how many systems and associated hardware/software you will find in large companies and many haven't been used for years. In many IT organizations, they want to transform IT but have no mechanism to articulate the costs or value of these systems. The IT optimization approach is to implement a program that like a gardener would prune the tree and nurture the optimal business solutions. Pruning the weeds would face resistance, however, at the end of the day, this was not just an IT decision, rather, it is the collective management decision to improve the overall business efficiency and agility. In addition, IT leaders and managers should like gardeners to sow the seeds of creativity and grow their talent, water them, fertilize them, and nurture their growth. Take all significant steps to transform IT from a cost center to an innovation hub, bring changes to itself as well as business-wide scope, and expedite high-performance business results. 

CIOs like plumbers to keep digital flow:
Digital is all about flow - data flow, information flow, mind flow, and idea flow. IT is shifting from “T” -technology oriented to “I”-information driven. Quite often, information is not tangible enough to make the business management feel any need to worry about Information Management. It is only when an event of consequence happens that they wake up and realize that Information Management has to get the proper attention and put on the top priority list of the management agenda. Perhaps we should first work to identify how information is associated with the valued tangibles of our businesses, our products, and our resources. Information in the business is just like the water in our household, or the blood in our body. Digital IT needs to be like the plumber to keep information flow and ensure that it flows across the silos and allows the right people getting the right information to make the right decisions. And decision makers can abstract the invaluable insight from the information to develop the right products/services for serving the right customers. How to manage information right is a fundamental requirement to become a digital master. Providing businesses the ability to apply real-time insights to the organization in ways is never possible before. With these insights, organizations acquire the ability to reshape products, services, and customer engagement.


Modern CIOs are creative leadership roles, therefore, the metaphorical understanding about contemporary CIOs' multiple personals is important to rise up the digital CIO's profile. The CIOs have to master multiple leadership and management roles well. They need to lead at the strategic level for conducting a complex digital orchestra; they should be handy managers to plumbing information and keep it flow smoothly; they also have to be like the diligent gardeners, to build a unique IT landscape via tuning technology, nurturing people and removing waste. Three Practices to Scale Up Digital Transformation

The business practice is always a combination of people and how they are used to doing things.

Organizations large and small are on the journey of digital transformation. Besides building a set of principles to follow, it’s also important to develop a series of best/next practice to scale up and amplify digital effects The business practice is always a combination of people and how they are used to doing things based on the set of principles and standards for adapting to changes in the business or technology shift. Here are three practices to scale up digital transformation efforts.


Innovation best practices: More and more firms are learning and implementing best practices in innovation for improving the success rate of innovation. The paradox is that by nature, innovation is about transforming the novel ideas to achieve its business value. It’s about figuring out the new way to do things. Hence, the innovation best practices are not for making static or rigid processes, but more about setting the principles and standards to achieve innovation management excellence through agility and flexibility. Not every innovative company uses every best practice. Not every authority agrees on every best practice. These practices might be different across organizations, across departments, and affiliates within an organization and can change over time. So any best practice is not a “one size fits all” formula, but needs to be a tailored solution for a certain organization and for the specific situation and challenges that are faced and that actually requires different priorities as compared to others. Still, there is a recognizable core of approaches and activities that produce profitable innovation, and there are companies that use them. The real challenge is to understand where and how you can and should improve to get the biggest effect and scale up across the digital ecosystem. Some "next practices" continue to emerge -In fact, they should change and evolve over time. Every organization needs to develop tailored innovation practices via leveraging effective tools or methodologies and use them wisely with the expertise to really add value or drive innovation. Innovation is the management discipline to reduce business complexity or increase revenue, the best practices would help businesses to manage innovation more systematically.


Agility Scale-Up Practices: Originally, Agile is a set of principles and methodology for software development. But it is emerged as a management philosophy and mindset to build up a high-performing digital organization. To make Agile successful, the entire "organization" has to be agile. For agile to deliver considerable "maximum" benefits, it needs to work across the whole ecosystem. This includes service company, customers, operations, procurement, HR, finance, etc. In a services situation, Agile success can improve the entire business competencies because it helps the business adapt to changes quicker and better. Corporations have to evolve because organizations that can't improve agility, flexibility, and speed, will eventually lag behind. The "organization" is the amalgam of both the company and its customers. If either side of that equation isn't agile, and then agility is not possible. Though to scale up agile, it doesn’t mean that an agile delivery model needs to be selected for the creation of every product, service, or project, as there may be cases where actually a non-agile delivery model is a viable option. Agile scaling up should be a well-planned journey and one of the crucial steps in digital transformation. Implementing a big change or managing a business transformation requires buy-in and push from upper management. Once there is support from them, then it becomes easy to get that change implemented and scale business agility seamlessly.

Cloudification Scale Up Practice:
Many organizations are also on the journey of cloudification which is one of the emergent digital technologies as a digital enabler. It takes strategic planning to push the cloud envelope, and there are several ways an appropriately designed cloud environment can bring speed, efficiency, and agility to organizations. Deciding where to put what application is fundamentally a strategy discussion. It is related to the nature of the application and the data. And where do ROI and TCO calculations fit in?  Scale capacity quickly up or down, and cost-effectively with the Cloud. Performing the appropriate transformation (re-host, re-architect, replace, encapsulate) is vendor specific as you have to take into account the technology provided. Explore the always on, always connected digital working environment, expand your workforce to any location; show a desire for a "new" delivery model by the business and dissatisfaction with the status quo. Hybrid cloud is often a reality.


Every company should strive to explore "best practices" throughout their organization to accelerate digital transformation via scaling up innovation, agility, and cloudification. However, the practices that are "best" today are almost always not "best" in the future since practices, as well as technologies and markets, are constantly morphing under pressure from the waves of creative destruction. Hence, it's equally important to develop the next practices and keep business in innovation mode in managing change and digital transformation effortlessly.
