Influence

 It’s time to celebrate 12, 000 blogposting. Leadership is a journey to bridge. Leadership needs to become more insightful to deal with hyper-diverse and over-complex normality.

Leadership is the capacity to influence others through a vision birthed by a conviction of a sense of purpose, motivate the team by passion, and lead teams by credibility and influence. 

As change is accelerated and the world is more connected, the future of leaders needs a global mindset, proficient professional capabilities, and skillsets.  Strong leadership is the right mix of character and competency. Character is based on authenticity - who you are inside, and competency comes from discovering, sharpening your strength, and unleashing your potential

"It is valuable for a person to be self-aware."  This proverb highlights the importance of understanding your own strengths, weaknesses, and limitations. Self-awareness is important for recognizing people’s cognitive ability and style, intellectual engagement, creative problem-solving capabilities, unique personalities, innovativeness, learning plasticity, emotional intelligence, etc.


Nobody is perfect, you should always be self-aware, including your flaws and shortcomings, having intellectual curiosity, a growth mindset, and a learning attitude The perspective of individualism is to refine the better version of yourself, and set time and agenda to change. Knowing who we are or being self-aware, allows us to discover our strengths, and become a better human being. 


"Self-reliance is the best reliance." This proverb encourages self-sufficiency and taking responsibility for oneself. Always strive to be better. Count on yourself, but do not hesitate to ask for directions if getting confused; ask for other’s help when necessary.


Embrace a culture of learning and innovation where feedback is encouraged and used for improvement. Leverage data analytics to inform your choices, stretch up yourself further, but set reasonable performance measurements. Quality information can help you identify areas for improvement, and track progress toward goals scientifically. 


“When the going gets tough, the tough get going”: This proverb highlights consistency, persistence, and perseverance. It means that those who are determined will find a way to overcome challenges. Perhaps we all accumulate different working and life experiences to have an enriched life.  From mindset to attitude to behavior, consistency is a critical element for delivering quality and driving cohesive changes.


Be consistent with who you are, and convey it accurately to make a positive influence on your surroundings. Great leaders also look for consistency in their teams, in their organization as well as in the ecosystem, as consistency enforces balance, unlocks growth, and harmonizes humanities. Digital leaders or professionals need to be equipped with the grit mind which involves raw endurance, persistence, and perseverance, to help you focus on purpose, goals, and outcomes.


Leadership is an influence. As per the “circumstance” point of view, there is global leadership context - how to lead in the broader global scope; there is “situational leadership” to deal with different circumstances. Leadership takes raw talent, but is more about persistence, dedication, and innovativeness., Great leaders build their unique set of leadership strengths and competencies to support the “circumstantiality” between leadership and achievement. Leadership is an influence, which can be made through leaders’ core competency, unique personas, and personalized leadership styles and practices
