Influence

A high-influential person is positive, and full of insight, to convey and sustain influence with the continuum.

We live in a complex global society, to make a positive influence is to overcome psychological vulnerability, instill optimistic energy, share thoughts, and exemplify attitude and behavior.

"Influential capabilities" can be understood through various lenses, such as leadership effectiveness, organizational strengths, and social dynamics within groups. In a business context, influential capabilities refer to a company's strengths, such as a strong brand, proprietary technologies, or unique expertise, which allow it to outperform competitors and drive growth.

Social Influence: In social or organizational settings, influential capabilities could relate to how individuals or group members exert influence based on their alignment with group norms or their skills in handling group tasks. Social identity theory suggests that members who embody the group's unique characteristics are more influential, as they provide a sense of certainty and validation to others within the group. But to influence outside the group, it's critical to gain fresh knowledge and empathy, find common ground, and drive progressive changes.

Informational influence: Informational influence occurs when individuals conform to a team because they believe the team has more accurate information, especially in ambiguous situations. This type of influence leads to team acceptance, meaning individuals genuinely change their beliefs or behaviors based on the team's input, as they perceive it as a reliable source of information. However, every team has its limitations, it's always important to think out of the box, verify knowledge and make objective judgments.

Expert influence: Expert influence can be understood through various lenses, including the breadth & depth of understanding, and evidence-based decision-making. Social environments significantly shape opinions and attitudes, as individuals often conform to the prevalent views within their social groups, such as workplace communities. Expert opinion significantly influences decision-making across various fields by providing specialized knowledge and insights that are not accessible to the general public. In the realm of public opinion, expert insights can shape perceptions and attitudes, particularly when they highlight underlying issues or concerns.

Cultural Influence: Culture plays a significant role in shaping social influences. Cultural orientations, such as individualism and collectivism, greatly affect how individuals respond to social pressures. In collectivist cultures, which emphasize interdependence and social harmony, individuals tend to conform more to group norms. This is because collectivists prioritize collective goals and are more concerned with how their behavior affects others and how they are perceived by their peers. In contrast, individualistic cultures, which value independence and self-reliance, tend to exhibit less conformity as individuals prioritize personal goals over group consensus.

To "influence" means to be able to shape other people's views or opinions towards one's own views or perspectives. A high-influential person is positive, and full of insight, to convey and sustain influence with the continuum and coherence.
