Collaboratively, organizations should cultivate the culture of authenticity, to encourage people to be authentic and inspire autonomy - take initiatives to self development and self actualization.

Autonomy rejuvenates authenticity and further stimulates creativity. Either individually or at the organizational setting, defining your true purpose is a helpful instrument to guide yourself, your team, your business, your relations along the other dimensions. From a management perspective, if you ensure the individuals have autonomy within their tasks or projects, you will be able to address performance on an equal partnership basis, and encourage people to focus on who they are, pursue autonomy and mastery.

Accountability demonstrates personal integrity; it’s an integral ingredient of authenticity, and harnessed by autonomy: If "accountability" has bad connotations, it is because there is blame attached. The leaders and managers should be more interested in finding "causes," not interested in assigning blame, in order to build a culture of accountability. To build a high performance workforce, behaving accountable is the result of a culture of authenticity with values that need to be organized and nurtured. Knowing who you are and how you react and respond in different situations can help you understand and improve cognitive, relational and assertive actions you take on a day to day basis and enforce accountability.

Accountability goes hand in hand with the delegation of authority or power, and it’s harnessed by autonomy. Professionals are responsible for their actions. They should be accountable to his/her company, to themselves or their conscience. The digital leader’s role is to empower their people to reach their full potential by building a work atmosphere to encourage creativity and autonomy. You know the team will deliver the best outcome and give them the freedom to do it on their way. Autonomy further harnesses accountability.

Autonomy with self-reflection, self-assessment, and self-improvement styles drives accountability and lifts authenticity: Consider nature as self-organized but interlaced environments, and humans are vehicles of natural evolution. It is your heart that ultimately contributes to a better world. But it’s your mind that enables self-reflection, self-assessment, and self-improvement, to become a “better self,” and lift authenticity. You have the freedom to do whatever needs to be done, and the responsibility to ensure you do your best to drive accountability and bring about good outcomes. Organizations need to cultivate a climate that is conducive to growth rather than using catch-phrases that make things look good, but having disconnectivity and incoherence within the organization.

Autonomy is an emerging digital theme. A high level of autonomy is the symbol of digital maturity by streamlining the digital flow and can be achieved via system automation, team self-management, and interdisciplinary digital practices. At the company level, it is possible to see what enables a self-adaptive organism is an information-driven process feeding and sustaining it.
