There are multiple viewpoints to understand digital, and there is no one size fits all formula for digital transformation.
The effects of an increasingly digitalized world are now reaching into every corner of businesses and every aspect of organizations. There are many views to understand digitalization, and there is no one size fits all formula to pursue it. Each organization just has to connect the dots, "walk the talk," and explore their own way, start creating their own strategy and build their own differentiated business competency and highlight knowledge as power to get digital ready.
Connect Knowlege Dots to Get Digital Ready
Knowledge vs. Imagination Perhaps it is another chicken and the egg debate: Knowledge vs. Imagination, which one is more important? There is no imagination without knowledge, and there is no knowledge without imagination. Putting information in a human memory is not similar to data storage, as you have to sort through, transform it into the knowledge, and abstract the insight or recreate the new knowledge at the advanced level.
Knowledge Management: Culture vs. Structure Change is the only constant, indeed, even change itself changes, but more than two-thirds of organizational change management effort fails, what’s the change all about, why is change so hard, is change equal to improvement?
Information Management vs. Knowledge Management? Information Management is to connect people with the right information at the right time & location, to ensure that accurate information is accessible and shared within relevant business units. This information is open to interpretation in accordance with the level of knowledge one has. Knowledge Management safeguards full understanding business processes, tools that are used and the people using those to optimize business efficiency. From Wikipedia: Information management (IM) is the collection and management of information from one or more sources and the distribution of that information to one or more audiences. Knowledge management (KM) is the process of capturing, developing, sharing, and effectively using organizational knowledge. It refers to a multi-disciplined approach to achieving organizational objectives by making the best use of knowledge.
Conventional Wisdom or Unconventional Wisdom: Which is True Wisdom? Rational wisdom is the usual meaning of the term 'wisdom' - it means accumulative wisdom that grows with age - or 'learning from past experience.' People do have their own beliefs and practices, which one can call as Conventional Mind. And one has right to live with the same. With age one tends to become risk averse, so they have a tendency to stick to the conventional wisdom. Unconventional wisdom often means the fresh insight or “out-of-the-box” thinking, so conventional wisdom or unconventional wisdom, which is true wisdom?
Knowledge vs. Wisdom? Knowledge is just like any useful, resourceful information available with you in your brain instead of in the books, pen, drive or some other form….acquired formally, informally, generally etc. Wisdom is the transformation of YOU into “A REAL YOURSELF” for which your knowledge may help you sometimes facilitates too, but you need to have an inner drive to demonstrate wisdom.
