Business Management today is a holistic discipline with hybrid management styles, focused on building a diverse, networked, and extended modern working environment.

People are the focal point of any organizational design and management focus. The goal of building a hybrid organization is to improve performance, increase quality, and delight customers.

 It is important to break through the industrial constraints and limitations, strike the right balance of old and new, in pursuit of possibilities rather than “keeping the light on” only, to drive innovation and accelerate business transformation.




Innovation and rules are actually the “hybrid truth”: Often, innovation happens at the intersection of consciousness and subconsciousness as our conscious and subconscious thinking work together. To survive and thrive in today’s hyper competitive economic dynamic, people should be encouraged to think critically and creatively.

Business leaders must take the holistic discipline with hybrid styles for breaking the old rules, establishing new rules accordingly; managing everything that is necessary to achieve business excellence. Organizations have to keep discovering the “hybrid truth,” such as process and flexibility, centralization & decentralization, and strike the multitude of business balances which impact each other in order to achieve a state of dynamic equilibrium.

Fine-tune hybrid organizational structure to harness innovation: Organizations become over-complex and interdependent, the overly rigid hierarchy stifles changes and enlarges gaps between different functions. A hybrid organizational structure and process management can bring greater awareness of the intricacies and the systemic value of organizational systems, processes, people dynamics, technology, resource allocation, and economies of scale, etc.

Nowadays, the reality of digital business is a hybrid nature of organization, mixing the virtual social platform with the physical functional structure to enforce cross-functional collaboration and harness innovation. With emerging digital platforms and technologies, organizations shape the “hybrid structures” with a good mix of formal structure and informal structure to enforce business alignment, capability integration and innovative collaboration.

Innovation has hybridized nature and blended flavor:
There are incremental innovation and radical innovation, often the process of innovation has a hybrid process of top-down and bottom up innovation management. In fact, it’s hard to think of any innovation as not a hybrid combination of something old with something new or a number of novel ideas or new things.

Innovation management does require interdisciplinary understanding to connect wider dots and see what’s possible, as well as the technical expertise to fix problems innovatively and improve innovation success rate structurally. It requires leaders to shepherd an idea through several phases of innovation development, knowing when to move forward and when to return to an earlier phase and manage a healthy innovation portfolio with hybrid types of innovations,
