Innovativeness

The environment today is constantly changing and forcing the business to “adjust” timely, and innovate constantly.

Innovation happens anywhere in an open environment, with ecosystem involvement. Organizations today need to be innovative in almost every perspective, and there are many ways to do innovation. 

In the organizational setting, innovation is not a few random efforts, but a systematic discipline by fine tuning business processes, building dynamic capabilities, and developing a set of next practices to manage innovation portfolio effectively.

 

Innovation & value-instilling: Being innovative is a state of mind - a mindset that believes any solution can be considered, especially if it is new or different. From an innovation management perspective: While a process of innovation can be learned, can it be "instilled" into the business culture? Can you instill long-term focus for the innovation team? Can you instill values of inclusion, learning agility, and collective wisdom? Value enhancement for customers is important to evaluate innovation.

Keep alert: due to abundant information and shortened knowledge cycle. The education system administered via the mechanical and reductionistic management philosophy with manufacturing style, focusing on instilling static knowledge, is no longer fit enough for the exponential changes and shorten knowledge life cycle. It’s important to instill the value of learning, innovating, and advocating the true culture of inclusion which will only happen through both formal and informal education.

Innovation & process-reengineering: Innovation is a process which can be optimized. Ideas and thinking processes and many of them really are not talking about innovation per se, they are more accurately discussing business process re-engineering. Innovation often happens at the intersection of people and processes. Process reengineering, structural design, and customer experience optimization are the right places to experiment innovation for the sake of business growth. Organizational structure tuning will become more practical because digital technologies provide an innovative way to do things, alternative channels to communicate, and better ways to get the work done.

It takes effort to shape innovativeness as a mindset. Generally speaking, if you cannot get people to write down what they observe, truly, deeply "think" about what innovation could be invoked for some betterment, there is still work that needs to be done to cultivate a culture of innovation. New generations of digital technologies, when coupled with clear vision, good planning, and effective execution, have the potential to change the way business is done. Innovation process re-engineering is about nurturing innovation skills, ingraining innovation culture, embracing innovative technology, applying good practices, and developing the updated metrics.

Innovation & consciousness –sub/superconsciousness:
We are at the most creative status when we get inspired, at the intersection of consciousness and subconsciousness; consciousness and superconsciousness. Knowledge is fundamental for making imagination into reality. Inspiration is best thought of as an interaction between current knowledge and the updated information we receive for shaping exciting thoughts and generating fresh concepts and ideas. At the highest level of imagination engagement, we become driven to leverage our imagination into creative or innovative results.

In the innovative company, super consciousness will act on how you see things as they could be. This, then, is what makes them different, they go against the inherent old habit in striving for a higher goal by encouraging creativity and improving innovation effectiveness. To unlock the superconscious state of the digital organization, the business needs to focus on creating a culture of creativity so that people can thrive to reach their own super-conscious state, turning the organization into “superconscious mode” with intelligence, creativity, and harmony.
