Global Universal Business Cases Management

The global flavor of universal business cases implies setting standards or formats that can be adopted by worldwide business audiences.

A business case provides the description and reason for starting an initiative to solve certain problems. We live in a hyperconnected and interdependent global society, A global universal business cause sets a certain standard, provides comprehensive reasoning and global context to solve cross-boundary issues logically.

You need to take a fast, hard look at the business case that justifies the program you are engaged in or spending assets on, to enhance a diversifying (ideas)-clarifying (concepts) -unifying (beliefs) cycle for business initiative management. In practice, how to define more global universal business cases?

A strong global business case enables effective decision-making and logical actions to reach global customers’ expectations: A Business Case provides the description and reason for starting an initiative to articulate and align with VSSP (Vision-Strategy-Structure-People & Processes). The global flavor of universal business cases implies setting standards or formats that can be adopted by worldwide business audiences. It also means that the intention behind such initiatives is to solve some problems with global context. The purpose of developing business cases is to clarify vision and strategy behind initiatives, and streamline people and process management to drive needed changes. Assessing and defining problems is usually more important than solving them. For strategic business initiatives, a vision provides the guiding light and direction, it’s also important to clarify strategic goals. Well articulate the reason for starting an initiative, at minimum content.

To solve problems at the global scope, it’s important to define more global universal business cases, identify the multitude gaps such as cognitive gaps, cultural gaps, resource gaps, and deepen understanding with global contextualism. Contextual problem framing helps to see a larger global business system with interactive pieces and “conflict” goals. There are multiple, inter-related dynamics and you need to be looking for patterns rather than isolating causes. A good business case will demonstrate some measure of financial indicators. if addressed in a business case for business improvement and technology-related projects. “What” can include both from a business perspective and from a technology perspective.

Compelling global business cases create a narrative that places a proposed investment within its competitive global context: Because it’s worthwhile considering why things are the way they are for, in doing so, you are challenging automatic assumptions that something needs fixing. The business management needs to ponder: How the initiative situates the organization within a growing and highly profitable product market niche, often in the global scope, develop compelling business cases describing the business model design initiative’s benefits and costs flow, how the initiative builds business processes that differentiate the organization from its major competitors, etc, and most commonly, the narratives within strategic business cases reflect multifaceted business value pathways.

A compelling business case is information-based and very persuasive. On one hand, it is important to be as comprehensive as possible in monetizing cost flows. On the other hand, it is important to be as conservative as possible in identifying and monetizing benefits flows. In essence, it must deal with cost/revenue/regulatory /or risk. It should encourage doing better pre-work, not necessarily putting everything in the case development, but worth further consideration: defining alternative solutions and the "success criteria," enabling consideration of the range of options, rather than the more traditional "jump to solution" problem-solving methodology and practice. Unclear goals or too many variables attached to it make it more confusing. The management needs to do reasoning: Which benefits will be achieved through addressing the key business drivers? Is it one solution or multiple solutions that will be required? How will these solutions contribute to the achievement of the business objectives and benefits? What solution options are available that will meet the business need and which option is the best option? Which solutions represent best value-for-money in terms of achievement of the business outcomes? Etc. You also need to emphasize that it is insufficient to simply communicate an initiative’s promised benefits, because these benefits must be delivered.

Strong global business cases advocate common values, set common standards, appreciate diversity and embrace inclusiveness:
We live in a global society with enriched knowledge and diversity of talent. A global universal business case embraces a variety of perspectives, clarifies key issues, sets common principles/standards, and unify multiple viewpoints to manage business initiatives logically. For solving large complex problems, it might be a good idea to first split problems into different categories and to assess the relative importance of the different categories and what could be done about it. You can simulate the problem-solving processes and identify the constraints, contextualization, modularity, scalability, costs, requirements, stability, and everything else you would need for solution optimization.

Strong universal business cases enable organizations to gain competitive advantages and generate options for providing future business competencies to solve problems with large scopes. In such a global climate, leaders should work with the right mindset to enhance inclusiveness with every dip in the business life cycle, always look for the capabilities and skills that they don't have so that they can build a winning team to achieve successful outcomes, whether financial, brand, or double bottom line. This is especially crucial in today’s world where the global business environment, organizations, and technology are continuing to experience dramatic changes at an accelerated pace.

To run a global business and solve many world-wide related problems, it’s important to clarify the vision and goals, setting global standards, align resources and people properly at both strategic and tactical level in order to develop compelling global universal business cases and handle cross-boundary issues effectively.
