Intuition = “Quick Logic” + “Good Logic”

It’s really interesting to know what intuition is. It’s really interesting to know how we use intuition consciously or subconsciously; it’s also interesting to know how to make intuitive decisions, as well as how to listen to your inner voice and decide promptly.

Intuition, also being called “gut-feeling,” is a sort of quick logic. Business pioneers, who are ultimately accepted as leaders, are blessed with intuitive logic as they introduce new business concepts, “out of box” systems and procedures for efficient use of natural and human resources. Intuition, therefore, is the key to solve problems innovatively.

Not every intuitor is an innovator, but many innovations have intuition it it. Here is further insight about intuition.

Intuition as quick logic: Intuition is the quality or ability to have such direct perception or quick insight, we may call intuition as quick logic. Being intuitive doesn’t mean that you lack knowledge or lack of training. More often, you need to train many times consciously, in order to gain quick logic. To assess the effectiveness of intuitiveness, it’s important to clarify: Have you had an opportunity to learn, do you have sufficient knowledge? In learning, did you get good feedback? Are you truly an expert here? Knowledge comes from a combination of several things such as educational training, experience from the past successes/failures, observation, cognizance, etc.

Intuition is a result of self-training and observation. The transition from intuitive to deliberate thinking in the first place requires expert knowledge in the field, expert power is perhaps more powerful than other types of powers in the digital era. With “VUCA” new normal, it is important that we don't overthink a resolution and avoid making simple things complicated. Intuition is a quick logic to make good decisions.

Intuition is complementary to rational: Many may think intuition is opposite to logic, but more precisely, an intuitive mind is a complementary thinking process to rational thinking. To solve problems intuitively, ask around: Is there a structure to the problem? That is, should there be a pattern, even if it is too complicated to make out, see unique patterns and make fresh connections that others overlook. If something is wrong, is it because the pattern doesn't fit, or 'something missing', or a discontinuity of logical 'connectors'. It takes some serious mental training and mindfulness to make sound judgment and be a good problem solver.

It’s a noble practice to perfect the art of intuition. Having attained 'subject field' expertise, an intuitive mind with pattern thinking requires you to keep eyes opening and keep your mind out of the box in order to actively seek out new meaning or fresh ideas wherever you could discover them. It helps you navigate from pattern to pattern to learn deeper about a problem space and apply different solutions in combination. It allows you to understand the problem with context, identify the leverage points of the systems and then, choose the decisive factors wisely. Intuition should be taken as a new insight, a new idea, a new angle, but must be backed with sound reasoning in the end before putting it into action. In this regard, intuition and creativity are converged.

A good combination of “quick logic” + “good logic”:
Intuition is often conceived as a kind of inner perception, sometimes regarded as lucidity or understanding. The right dose of “gut feeling” (quick logic) supported by analytics (good logic) enables us to capture the flash of ideas or unique insight. It's an internalized knowledge that has developed through theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and life experience that guides the gut feeling so that we intuitively know the right decision for problem-solving.

It’s really interesting to know what intuition is. It’s really interesting to know how we use intuition consciously or subconsciously; it’s also interesting to know how to make intuitive decisions, as well as how to listen to your inner voice and decide promptly. Our brains are working at full speed when it's time for changes when we get to a crossroad; our inner strength will bring us perception, persistence, and performance towards the path we take.

Intuition is more receptive and holistic. The human brain can process huge amounts of information unconsciously without it ever rising into consciousness. This is why intuitive decision making can be powerful and should not be underestimated. The right mix of analytics and intuition improves decision maturity and problem solving competency.
