Inspirationalleadership

Isn’t a tough journey to celebrate 9200 blog postings? Leadership isn't a job title or a time-setting work; it is really a character and personal development.

In face of “VUCA” reality, the corporate leaders need to observe, perceive, and pay attention to the myriad of internal, external, national or global forces that define and influence the way we do business and run contemporary societies these days.

Effective leadership is a good combination of substances plus styles, character and charisma, principles and practices psychologically,  philosophically and methodologically. The digital-savvy leaders have to gain digital awareness, shape multidimensional thinking mindset, understand what's required and how as a high-level basis of going digital means to the business, and play an instrumental role in leading business transformation seamlessly.

Leadership is about directions and driving people-centric changes deeper at the mindset level:
Leadership is about making influence. Great leaders are not ego driven, able to bridge multitude of gaps from mindset to attitude to behavior. Poor leadership is caused by the people -the followers who don't know how to select or even recognize good leaders due to their own silo mentality, outdated concepts or knowledge, or limited career or life experiences. Many business and political mistakes are a result of groupthink with a thinking pattern that is following the crowd, due to lack of cognitive difference and heterogeneous team setting.

Oftentimes, the stereotypical perceptions or cookie-cutting matching approach more possibly lands a homogeneous follower, not discovering an authentic leader. It’s important to set a heterogeneous leadership team with cognitive difference, to ensure that personal bias is eliminated, group polarization is analyzed, so they can make effective decisions for improving leadership maturity. Influential leaders are specialized generalists with a unique set of leadership competencies such as multicultural cognition and intelligence, strong visioning and communication, sound judgment, inclusiveness, talent recognition and empowerment, profound insight & domain expertise, etc for leading organizations in the right direction.

Leadership is about influencing, coaching, exemplification:
In order for you to add value to people you need to become more invaluable and influential. How people influence is dependent on the active coping mechanisms that they use to survive and thrive in a given set of life conditions. The degree of leadership influence is much more complex nowadays due to rapid change and information-savvy workforces. Not to mention that each of us is a complex blend of contrasts - positive and negative; intuitive and logical with imperfect judgment. Observe deeper and make sound judgment: Where are the key influencers in the organization? If they happen to be senior leaders regardless of the functional leadership role even better.

Great leaders should be ideal coaches; their leadership influence is displayed by their thought leadership or exemplified behavior. The coach style leadership is to build competitive teams and develop more leaders to encourage the creation of an environment in which all feel the need to demonstrate influential leadership, to take responsibility for achieving better outcomes, to unlock the full talent potential of the company's best and brightest. Insight helps digital leaders and professionals discover, then consciously manage the communication gap between self-perception and the perception of others. Under great leadership disciplines and practices, the logical scenario to manage a healthy workforce is to attract the right people with a growth mindset, the right aptitude, and attitude, with autonomy and changeability, bring positive energy to the workplace.

Leadership is about setting rules and conveying wisdom in a consistent manner:
Leadership implies a set of philosophies, principles, and disciplines that leaders carry on for making profound influence. One of the significant roles of leadership is to convey wisdom and lead transformative changes. Philosophy is broader, abstract human knowledge into deep wisdom. Digital principles and rules are statements of belief that reflect the values, culture, and real-world concerns of the organization. Leadership principles are not a set of overly restrictive rules defined by manuals, but a set of wisdom-based rules that integrate both art and science; logic and intuition, character and charisma, etc, orchestrated via an insightful playbook.

Trust is a key determinant of leadership success. Great leaders are able to identify patterns as the essence of thoughts of communications, capture abstract philosophical wisdom, understand generalization, standards, context, and a bigger picture to build trust and spread the truth across a variety of audiences. Leadership philosophy is methodical and has deliberate processes for raising questions, reasoning, identifying faulty reasoning, and thinking outside the box. So wise leaders can apply philosophy-based discipline to see the cause and effect of complex problems thoroughly, engage people with recognition and intellectual challenges, and lead their organization forward smoothly.

Leadership isn't a job title or a time-setting work; it is really a character and personal development, you must continue to learn and improve upon the leadership capabilities and maturity. The digital leadership effectiveness is not based on how loudly you can speak, but how profoundly you can influence both horizontally and vertically. Cross-cultural, cross-industrial, cross-functional leadership becomes the new normal for facilitating and orchestrating the differences, values, cultures of our species, and gaining a profound understanding of the business ecosystem to make a paradigm shift successfully.
