Increasingagility

People or organizations should keep learning agile, continually building professional competency, cultivate a culture of high performance and make seamless business transformation.

Nowadays, velocity and uncertainty are digital new normal. The challenge is to prioritize what you know about and keep an eye open for signs of things you don't know about.

Only through an in-depth understanding of business, the leaders can make a priority choice based on the comprehensive understanding of the geographic location, the company, industry, put the stronger emphasis on empowering people, the source of knowledge, innovations/adaptations and customer centricity.

Increase business agility: Many businesses aspire to agility when they are burdened by overly rigid organizational structure, brittle, tightly coupled systems constrained by inflexible roadmaps and deployment schedules due to the underlying integration dependencies, and multifaceted complexity. Business agility is the ability to adapt to changes as well as initiating change for dealing with problems smoothly. If these changes are captured in the rolling plan, flexibility can be achieved.

Need for agility arises due to changes in underlying assumptions. Numerous changes run, complete, and then slowly crumble away as people slowly revert to old ways of doing things, and get stuck with complacency. Being agile is a state of mind, agility is the ability to pivot and change direction in response to market pressure or to create market opportunity. Organizations need to focus on their business processes, and not operate in traditional silo structures. It requires distinct patterns of IT-enabled capabilities to continue improving business agility and lead change smoothly.

Improve organizational consistency: The consistency of connecting dots needs to be in the practice of the many great values, highlighting some unique and outstanding ones as a brand. Sometimes there's a gap between the management’s self-reflection and how others view your brand due to social, cultural or cognitive differences. Consistency enforces effectiveness; it is a critical element for delivering quality business products or services and driving cohesive changes, fosters customer satisfaction, improves quality, and unlocks performance.

Consistency facilitates efficiencies in operations and the ability to deliver shared brand promise across service, sector, and national boundaries. They are externally focused on value-creation and opportunity. The corporate leaders need to be consistent with what they think and behave; the management needs to make a commitment to deliver value-added products/services to deliver customers and unlock performance in a consistent way. The leaders with reputational intelligence will and keep growing themselves and their organization with reputational imperative for the long term.

Become sensitivity to emergence:
Rapid change, fierce competitions, and frequent disruptions are the new normal. The reason linear thinking is in many cases not so effective today is because there is always a temptation to use simple linear models to understand highly complex or nonlinear scenarios for making sound judgments or tough decisions and keeping their sensitivity intact, in order to lead the business forward smoothly.

Besides information precision, the highest level of future sensitivity comes from appreciation of the whole business conditions and situations which rely heavily on leaders’ ingenuity and intuition, knowledge, and experience. Also, you need to have sensitivity to the cultural difference, for those cross-boundary communication and collaboration to matter, to add value, gain in-depth understanding and goal-seeking. It’s not about creating another layer of silos, but about unlocking collective human potential and improving organizational maturity.

Nowadays, the business world has become over-complex with blurred geographical, functional, organizational, and even industrial borders, hyperconnectivity brings both an abundance of opportunities and unprecedented risks. It requires people, especially business leaders, to see things from a broader lens and enable the organization to approach the flow zone for improving its adaptability and accountability. People or organizations should keep learning agile, continually build professional competency, cultivate a culture of high performance and make seamless business transformation.
