How successful organizations can handle continuous digital disruptions depends on how fast and capable they can lubricate relationships, optimize complexity, improve business agility.

The very characteristics of digital new normal are rapid change, exponential growth of information, constant disruptions. Increasingly, enterprises find themselves enmeshed in "ecosystems," full of nonlinearity, unrepeatability, unpredictability. 

While businesses can influence and get influenced by these "ecosystems," they have limited "control" over these ecosystems. What are the lubricants for the organizations to deal with conflicts, fricions, unexpected events smoothly,  how to improve organizational agility, create strategic synergy and synchronize business speed?

They become more and more ineffectively complicated due to overly rigid organizational pyramids, frictional processes, legacy infrastructure, etc. To improve organizational responsiveness and performance, the platforms enabled by emerging technologies help to lubricate business processes, flatten organizational hierarchies, harmonize cross boundary communication and collaboration, and cope with an ever-changing business environment smoothly.

Business frictions seem to be inevitable, as there’s a pendulum swinging between process & flexibility, engagement and efficiency; innovation and standardization, etc. IT needs to continue fine-tuning the business infrastructure, applications, and solutions via consolidation, modernization, integration, optimization, innovation., etc. A frictionless organizational system orchestrated by effective information technology, dynamic processes and flexible structures allows staff to get out of their comfort zone, harmonize business relationships, clarify process logic, and build a dynamic business to accelerate performance and reach the next level of organizational maturity.

Influential leaders are lubricant to deepen understanding and handle conflicts thoughtfully: In many organizations or societies, if a bunch of people are working in a team towards the common goal, there will be conflicts. The conflict may be caused by misunderstanding, unhealthy competition, and excessive emotional involvement. How to handle it effectively is art and science. High performance organizations empower influential leaders as lubricants to handle conflicts, shape the “hybrid structures” with a good mix of formal structure and informal structure to enforce business alignment, capability integration and innovative collaboration.

Philosophy, information based forecast as lubricants to handle uncertainty and resolve critical issues:
Uncertainty/risk is inherent in every venture; whether a product can be delivered on time; whether a competitor will cause your pain, the risk is going forward with incomplete information. Philosophy is methodical and has deliberate processes for questioning, reasoning, identifying faulty logic, and inspiring thinking outside the box. Information based forecasts help to predict upcoming trends or risks, dealing with “VUCA”business ecosystems more scientifically.

Philosophical wisdom makes leadership stronger and scientific forecast improves planning accuracy. There's nothing to be done about uncontrollable situations although a good plan can identify the external factors, and the process can enable a company to work around the externals. By applying philosophical disciplines and advanced analysis tools, strategic planning, and process play a role in reducing risk and dealing with the issues of 'uncertainty' within major enterprise scope, and ecosystem.

How successful organizations can handle continuous digital disruptions depends on how fast and capable they can lubricate relationships, optimize complexity, improve business agility. The business will become more successful when the corresponding learning curve has reduced uncertainty to the point where the information can be synchronized, the strategic synergy can be created and performance can be accelerated consistently.
