The in-depth understanding of either problems you intend to solve or the people you try to get to know have become an important quality for digital leaders and professionals. 

How to apply critical thinking and other cognitive techniques to frame the right problems and solve them effectively.

Critical thinking is about thinking slowly to digest information without bias and leverage multitude of thought processes to think thoroughly: The gaps between knowledge and insight are about the depth of understanding. The most important capability of the cognitive mind is the willingness and ability to seek out knowledge, gain an in-depth understanding of issues or people, address people’s ignorance and assumptions. To understand correlations and discover patterns, it’s important to perceive the interdependence of varying relevant issues or connected pieces interdisciplinarily, provide the deep insight into the emergent properties; and figure out how to deal with such complexity with interactive pieces and “conflict” goals via empathetic lenses. So they can figure out premium solutions.

Critical Thinking deepens true understanding of the issues, and enforces cognitive intelligence without thinking too much or thinking too little: Perception is based on one’s thought processes which are influenced by one’s thinking style, cognitive understanding, and knowledge level. The insight of a situation requires in-depth understanding. The more complex the situation is, the more different thought processes and approaches are needed to reach for true understanding. When in-depth thoughts and contextual understanding transcend into wisdom, the good solution to a specific problem can be scaled and applied to other domains.

Critical thinking is not just about overwhelming thinking chaos but about cohesive understanding and logical reasoning: Overcomplexity and uncertainty are the new normal, it is impossible to have complete knowledge and understanding of many issues facing the business today. To improve problem-solving effectiveness, it’s important to have people who can extend the thinking box, complement each other’s viewpoint, broaden the knowledge base and deepen the understanding of varying issues via logical reasoning for defining the right problems with interdependent pieces. It’s about seeing interrelationships rather than isolated things, understanding patterns of changes rather than static “snapshots”; in order to solve chains of relevant issues smoothly.

There are those who think logically, and others are a lot more emotional in their decision-making; some focus on the bigger picture, others get stuck at details. It is imperative to to gain a better understanding of certain topics or problems that may occur and overcome the challenge.
