Set the common problem-solving principles to bridge the difference, enhance a diversifying-clarifying -unifying cycle of world class insight to overcome common challenges and accelerate collective progress consistently.

We live in a diverse global society with multipolar knowledge centers, multigenerational workforce, multi-cultural cognition, and multi-devicing convenience, etc. Change is the new normal, there are a multitude of changes such as mindset change, behavioral change, organizational change, technological  change, cultural change etc.

It’s important to develop a common set of principles to synchronize, scale up and sustain change effects for harmonizing collective progress on the global scale. And such principles are themselves evolutionary in nature to generate winning concepts for accelerating digital transformation on a consistent basis.

Clarify common values for driving needed changes: We live in a world in which change is the norm and if we don't embrace it, accept it, roll with it, or make it happen, we're not able to run an advanced global society. However, change is never for its own sake, but to solve problems large or small for generating multifaceted value. On a global scope, there are discrepant criteria on value proposition: what would you think the progress is, what needs to be changed, how to manage changes as well as how to assess change performance in value generation. Sometimes, there are conflicts between individual value and organizational value; local value and global value. There's value perception difference in different geographical locations, cultures or religions, clarifying a set of common values you need to create is an important step in harmonizing change on the global scale.

The beautiful globe we co-share is diverse, the criteria to assess problem-solving effectiveness, being used by different countries or continents such as Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America are bound to vary, relative to their respective economic status regulations. The criteria themselves, regardless of the aforementioned disparities, are founded purely on the principles of change. Even though people like to think they use objective information and explicit criteria for change, in almost all cases they find out later there were unrecognized issues, hidden criteria and just estimates of the future, not objective facts. The whole value chain needs to be continually realigned, engaged, improved so customers and stakeholders get their fair share. It’s important to follow progression principles, set the common set of global values to lead change forward, ensure the organization fulfills its vision and mission, and execute progressively.

Enhance mutual understanding and build trustful relationships to overcome common challenges:
As the world moves into a hyper-connected and interdependent age, global professionals today have to continue sharing their viewpoint about things or events happening in their surroundings, their perspective of future global society; their roles on making desired changes, their professional strengths & weakness, as well as how to team up for building competitive global team for communicating virtually and working across cultures, co-solving common problems collaboratively. Keep in mind, there are different levels of understanding; from surface interesting facts understanding to deeper cause-effect reasoning. It's the deeper ones that change the mindset to become more globalized, increasing learning agility, improving cultural intelligence, enhancing trustful relationships, showing tolerance of ambiguity, mastery of handling complexity, etc.

As people have different characters and diverse personalities, there's a discrepancy between subjective perception and reality; this is particularly true in the global team setting, demonstrate a global mindset involving a personal intention to focus on being global, with global abilities such cultural cognition, learning agility, the skills of for solving global level problems. Common understanding can be at many levels. And it has to be explained from many perspectives thereby. One can empathize with someone else without agreeing with their perspective. Empathy is the defining quality of using the right language with the right people to gain mutual understanding for building trustful relationships to solve common problems thoroughly. Highly effective communication is the lubricant to solve problems, so the solution lies in using the right language and style; as well as leveraging the proper communication channels upon how the message is delivered to frame and solve problems smoothly.

Appreciate diversity, set inclusion principle to accelerate the divergence-convergence cycle for innovative problem-solving:
Creativity is the most needed professional quality and innovation is the light every forward-look organization is pursuing. Brainstorming and knowledge sharing improve workforce learning agility and innovativeness. When someone is sharing a thought with you, do you focus on what’s been told contextually and listen objectively with an open heart and mind? Being innovative requires us to be willing to listen to diverse viewpoints, broaden the perspective to fix misperceptions, deepen understanding to bring up fresh insight, and develop a more enriched profile that appreciates diversity, advocates inclusiveness and progression.

From a problem-solving perspective, innovative problem-solving is an iterative convergence-divergence-convergence cycle. While the team is analyzing the "problems," it will better go more convergent to really hone in on the "why." Once you figure out what the true problems are; then, go to the divergent process to ideate by embracing diversity of thoughts. Technically speaking, divergence cycle typically occurs in a spontaneous and flow manner, thoughts wrap around with thoughts, many ideas are generated in an emergent cognitive fashion. And then, convergence cycles consolidate, optimize, abstract, prioritize, and implement the best of a few ideas based on top business goals, resource availability, capability suitability to achieve high business value.

The pace of change is increasing, the world becomes flattened, and information is exponential. Insightful leaders and professionals can become true globalists if they are able to familiarize themselves with the psychological, geopolitical, anthropological, philosophical and sociological effects of globalization in all realms of the global perspectives, broaden their viewpoints based on enriched global content; and deepen their understanding with global contextualism. They play a significant role in setting the common problem-solving principles to bridge the difference, enhance a diversifying-clarifying -unifying cycle of world class insight to overcome common challenges and accelerate collective progress consistently.
