Inertia
Inertia Organizations large or small are experiencing the dynamics of information exponentality and unprecedented uncertainty, they are also at the different stages of the digital paradigm shift. However, culture inertia is part of business reality. Either at the organizational or societal scope, culture is complex and often invisible. Levels and ways of inertia manifestation could be a criterion for measuring organizational health.
UncoverDigital Inertia We have moved into the deep, deep digital age when information is abundant and where creativity becomes a baseline competence. The race of information against the machine is ongoing, and the knowledge life cycle is significantly shortened. Many organizations are also at a crossroad facing unprecedented change and uncertainty, the significant business transformations are needed to digitalization, globalization, and radical innovation management. However, statistically, more than two-thirds of Change Management effort fails to achieve the expected result, so what are the digital inertia you need to deal with, in order to manage a successful digital transformation journey frictionlessly and ultimately build a Digital Master?
Learning Inertia Digital means the abundance of information and a shortened knowledge cycle. As companies around the world transform themselves into the digital business that is based on information, their ability to explore intangible assets such as information and knowledge has become far more decisive to build competitive business advantages. Both at the individual and organizational level, if you fail to climb the learning curve, you will get static and lag behind. Business leaders should be aware of learning curves or learning inertia, make an objective assessment of their organization’s learning competency.
Initiation & Risk Intelligence The digital era upon us is about innovation. The purpose of Innovation Management is to prepare everything to maximize the transformation of an idea to achieve its business value through well-prepared processes and structures. In reality, business transformation makes a lot of people nervous because it means they have to move out of their comfort zone, which causes innovation inertia.
Can you “Move out of your Comfort Zone” Change is the new normal. Change is situational. It happens when something starts or stops, or when something that used to happen in one way starts happening in another. But acceptance of change is transitional, and “moving out of your comfort zone" can be used at all levels and as a starting point for change. It might sound like a cliche, the trick is understanding that moving out of a comfort zone leads to the creation of a new comfort zone which in turn will require you to move out "of" it again. This continuous moving "out" of your comfort zone is complemented by the cycle of self-development. There is a classic fable about a lion and a gazelle to analogize such a "surviving and thriving cycles": The lion wakes up and starts running otherwise it will not catch lunch. The gazelle does the same but, in this case, to avoid becoming lunch. Either way, you have to move to survive. This principle can be applied in a physical sense as well. The human body is designed for motion and physical effort.
