Independentthinking

The high professional workforce is composed of people who are well-disciplined, unbiased and objective, think and work independently.

Independent thinking is extremely important in the digital era in which information is only a few clicks away, but fresh knowledge co-exists with outdated information, emerging trends and old traditions cause conflicts and confusion sometimes.

Without independent thinking, the mind, more often than not, still gets stuck inside the box of conventional wisdom. Digital professionals must practice independent thinking all the time, and use multidimensional intelligence properly to improve professionalism.

Independent thinking is just about making your own mind: In a world full of information, a variety of cultures or traditions have inundated us with conventional wisdom. Independent thinking is important to analyze and synthesize all sources of information to form your own opinion and make objective judgment. Independent thinkers have high integrity if they make a conscious effort to ensure that their words are congruent with their thoughts and actions. Independent thinkers are in demand to create fresh insight, spur good ideas, advance the world because they neither follow others' opinions blindly nor being isolated from varying resources. They keep thinking, learning, improving.

An independent thinker applies critical thinking to make decisions effectively:
An individual's ability to think critically comes down to each individual person's desire to think independently, make sound judgments, and explore possibilities. In reality, the true insight is inundated with outdated knowledge; the real voice is mixed with a lot of noise. If you uncritically accept whatever knowledge or ideas you've been taught, many of them perhaps are out of date or have a bias, you are not an independent thinker.

Independent thinking is a “mindful” ingredient of confidence:
Confident people don’t blindly follow others, but be confident in their abilities, attitude, practice independent thinking, express their opinions, and make decisions. Being confident means you know who you are, your limitations, so you are humble to learn, deepen your understanding, communicate in a consistent way. Confident professionals are sure enough in themselves to know what they don't know, be more knowledgeable in specific domains, but seek out talent better than themselves for the areas they are not very familiar with, trust their own judgment of others to empower those around them in making their organization successful.

The high professional workforce is composed of people who are well-disciplined, unbiased and objective, think and work independently; present both learning agility and excellent problem-solving skills, explore alternative solutions, make high performance and keep unlocking their potential.
