Initiatecognitiveconnectivity

It’s important to take thinking as a habit to connect, create, clarify, conclude, and choose with confidence!

Cognition is the mental process of acquiring knowledge through thoughts, perceptions, feelings, and senses. Cognition can happen in many different ways and their combinations, enhancing our description of the world and ourselves within it.

A cognitive mind with high intelligence can perceive people or things objectively, bring quantifiable, logical, external perspective by involving a lot of mental “doing” - connecting, creating, clarifying, concluding, and choosing, with the goal to decide effectively and solve problems thoroughly.

Connecting: A connecting mind is free from the psychological inertia, can flow across the boundaries to generate fresh insight, allowing ideas to flow through frictionlessly, spark creativity effortlessly. Neurologically speaking, perhaps an essential feature of the creative brain is its degree of connectivity-both inter-hemispheric and intra-hemispheric. Every problem that we face has a similar or analogous problem in the past, in some other industry or in a leading area. A mind with interdisciplinary knowledge connectivity enables people to solve problems more effectively.

A connecting mind can capture unique insight, see through things from the different angles, be open to see the commonality even at the seemingly “polar opposite” viewpoints; it's the mind with a sort of paradoxical thinking process that holds onto its natural connectivity while being prepared to connect the dots even in the opposite direction should they make sense in order to make sound judgment and solve problems holistically.

Creating: Creativity is infused with an inner cohesion and comes from a vision of uniqueness, and capability of unusual connection and unconventional understanding. Creativity is a passion for some who are inquisitive and want to explore new possibilities. Creativity is the discovery of what has not yet been seen nor manifested, to discover better ways to do things.

Creativity is an alternative solution to an emerging or existing problem. Innovators continue learning, creating, influencing. Creativity sometimes leads to intuitive products which reflect the personality of the individual in their response to the problem stimulus and the means for its expression

Clarifying: A thought is a meaning; the meaning could range from vague to very specific. To improve cognitive abilities, it’s important to observe, listen, and collect feedback, to truly deepen understanding, clarify thoughts, and improve decision effectiveness. Clarity of thoughts is not related to how many words one has to know, it is more to do with the sharpness of intellect, cognitive skills and capabilities. With strong cognitive understanding and communication skills, clarity of thoughts brings clarity of words, to avoid “lost in translation” syndrome.

The purpose of clarity is simple, the words need to reflect your own thoughts, and you must learn to use words wisely without getting lost in “thoughts-words” interpretation. In pursuit of clarity, do not just digest the words, but dig through the thoughts. The words are the symptom, but the thoughts are the root causes for solving lots of issues that get stuck st misinterpretation or misunderstanding. It takes solid cognitive abilities and communication skills to clear up the confusion in order to articulate the circumstances, express concepts in a concise and insightful way with clarity.

Concluding
: Cognitive abilities involve processing information in an analytical and sequential way, looking first at the pieces then putting them together to get the whole, apply analysis & synthesis techniques for making sound judgments, coming up with reasonable conclusions. Assumptions and prejudices are due to a lack of real critical thinking and deeper insight. Critical Thinking is the rational analysis and evaluation of the issues in order to make a fair judgment

It’s about making decisions based on opening up with diverse viewpoints, careful and comprehensive reasoning, openness to finding connections between people, ideas, things, etc, taking multidimensional thinking skills to decide effectively and practicing multidisciplinary approaches to solve problems smoothly.

Choosing: Our cognitive mind can help us make choices on a daily basis for taking actions that make sense to us as intelligent human beings. Conscious choice is made when we apply our mind and "make a decision." This could be based on our intelligence, past experiences, and knowledge. Choice with full awareness is the freedom from the conditioned circumstances. The more conscious we grow, the more aligned we become with our intuition. Guidance comes from within.

Both intuitive and deliberate thinking have their places to help people make the right choice, intuition helps them make choices by following “their guts-feeling to decide “what shall you do or choose'' naturally; deliberate thinking will allow you to structure and verify multi-choices you can make intellectually. From a business management perspective, it’s important to provide choices for customers on how to solve their issues by listening to their feedback, delivering intuitive products/services to meet their needs empathetically.

The cognitive gap is one of the serious problems for both decision coherence, creativity, and problem-solving effectiveness. To improve cognitive competencies, it’s important to take thinking as a habit to connect, create, clarify, conclude, and choose with confidence! Collectively, it is important to build heterogeneous teams with cognitive differences and complementary skills/capabilities/background/
experience, to broaden the vision, deepen understanding.
