Innovativeleadership

Leadership now becomes more interdisciplinary, influential and innovative. Leadership competency is multifaceted, interrelated with the traits, and experience.

Digital is the age of information abundance and rapid change, leaders have the ability to perceive clearly and influence deeply; striving to be true to their intentions in much the same way as an artist tries to stay true to their subject or the scientists to stay true to their research.

Leadership is both natural and nurtured. Contemporary leadership must be built on the foundation of the moral competencies –insight, justice, courage, and temperance, etc, in order to build strong reputation and amplify leadership impact.

Leadership & analysis: Leadership is induction & deduction; principle & discipline. In the era of information abundance, business analytics helps in driving better business decisions. At the end of the day, the business doesn't care about equations but insights/recommendation analytics can give the clue to the business for leading organizational growth. The business leaders and managers have an advanced understanding of regular analytics, and also have excellent leadership and communication skills, focusing on bigger business problems with logical inquisitiveness.

The quality of analytical leadership will make an influence on leveraging multiple viewpoints to make an effective decision via logic and intuition; solve real business issues via analysis and synthesis. At high mature organizations, analytics is the ingredient that needs to be well embedded into business culture, to drive data-based decisions both at the strategic and operational level.

Leadership & innovation:
The difference between innovative leaders and conventional managers is not about how many answers you have, but about how well you can ask open questions to attract fresh insight. Since innovation is fundamentally about challenging common beliefs, breaking assumptions, having more assumptions uncovered will lead to greater innovation. Leadership innovation is a prototype practice, organizations need to keep experimenting, and exploring with clear goals and continuous practices.

Innovative leaders can set the tone for encouraging innovation and build a unique innovation capability portfolio; leverage all sorts of information to perceive the big picture into which the knowledge fits, connect wider dots to discover patterns, generate novel ideas and enhance leadership influence. In order to build a high-effective leadership team, innovative leaders should always look for complementary mindsets, capabilities, and skills that they don't have so that they can build a winning team and complement each other to spur fresh ideas and cultivate a culture of creativity.

Leadership & authenticity:
Leadership in the coming decade will need to be more authentic and distributed. To build leadership competency, being an authentic leader is critical because if you know yourself, you are also better suited to tackle different challenges that will come your way as a leader; to make you think about what truly drives you to lead and why.

To thrive in today’s digital new normal, digital leaders must discover themselves, their people and organizations thoroughly, see possibilities before others and develop their unique leadership competencies for driving the digital transformation effortlessly.

Leadership now becomes more interdisciplinary, influential and innovative. Leadership competency is multifaceted, interrelated with the traits, and experience. Leadership is about trying to determine which competencies or capabilities should be used in which combination, and with what level of weight for each, for different situations, to drive needed changes. The leadership effectiveness is not based on how loud you can speak, but how profound you can influence. It is imperative that "leadership" can be explained, explored, understood and embraced for it to be of any value interdisciplinarily.
