Insight

Insight cannot be told completely because there’s personal learning and perception in it.

Insight is the act or result of understanding the inner nature of an entity or of seeing things intuitively. It is about penetrating.

Being insightful is the ability to see through things, either from the broader lens or deeper perspective. Objective perception, contextualization, and paradox, etc, are a few characteristics of insight.

Insight leads to more objective perception: Due to cognitive differences and personal circumstances, each one of us learns and filters information, perceiving things differently to shape subjective perception. Subjective perception is based on one’s thought processes which are influenced by one’s beliefs, thinking style, cognitive understanding, or surroundings, etc, leading us to judge others, all of which may be positive or negative. Therefore, personal perception is subjective, varies from person to person, culture from culture. Insightful based relative objectivity is a continual process in which we skirt the edge of what is possible.

Pre-conceptual assumptions, or cognitive biases are often due to a lack of deeper understanding. It is important to be objective and gain a different view in order to be insightful about certain topics or problems that may occur. To find the truth, one must remove the “old box” shaped via conventional wisdom or group thinking, and shape a bigger box of thinking and reasoning. Accurate information, relevant and updated knowledge helps to make insightful observation and in-depth understanding, consciously limiting the influence of our own biases, allowing us to come up with objective perception which is closer to the actual reality..

Insight enables one to understand context; contextualization shapes insightful views of complex things: Insight is an understanding of cause and effect based on the identification of relationships and behaviors within a model, context, or scenario. Contextual intelligence deepens one’s insight; broadening the understanding of a specific cause and effect in a specific context or the core issues of a situation which leads to true understanding and resolution. Insight brings a value addition to our character by which we will be able to handle our life situations without overdose of negative emotions such as fear, anger, stress, worry, anxiety, etc. Insightful business leaders and professionals are able to work through the context across the boxes to inspire alliance and shape the new box of thinking to solve problems thoroughly.

Contextualization digs deeper, to touch the thought processes and logical reasoning, see connections between the things, rather than isolated issues. Contextual understanding of the interrelationships and correlations of complex things offer access to new perspectives and new insights, and interpreting them in a cohesive way. It’s a construct that involves the ability to recognize and diagnose the plethora of contextual variables inherent in the present circumstances, then intentionally and intuitively adjust behaviors in order to exert influence in that context.

Insight is framed by interdisciplinary understanding and enhanced by paraconsistent logic: In today's digital world with complexity, uncertainty, and ambiguity, all wisdom has some paradoxical themes. Business leaders or professionals with high paradoxical intelligence can keep the state of psychological balance with the right balance of ego & egolessness, intuition and logic, optimism and caution, see things from different angles and understand the situation insightfully.

It’s widely known that there is stereotypical thinking, or preconceived notions about how things should happen and how people are evaluated. Insight is the intersection of analytic thinking and synthetic thinking. To dig underneath, see around the corner or read between the lines for truly uncovering the truth, insightful understanding can be enhanced by paradoxical logic to see the two sides of the coin, listen to the two versions of stories, clarify the sequence and consequence of the situations or scenarios based on paradoxical reasoning and multidimensional understanding.

Insight cannot be told completely because there’s personal learning and perception in it. Insight takes both creativity and reasoning, connecting dots of present, current, and future, converging hindsight, insight, and foresight into a holistic perspective for understanding things thoroughly and solving problems radically.
