Digital organizations are hyper-connected and interdependent, business leaders today must be able to foster a workplace that thrives on cross-functional communication, collaboration, and social interaction in building business competency. 

The true value of people, especially today’s knowledge workforce, includes many tangible and intangible factors; it’s important to build a differentiated set of workforce competency via knowledge management, innovation, and quality improvement, and improve business agility, and maturity.

Keep knowledge fluid and updated: A digital business ecosystem is open, fluid, dynamic and energetic because the speed of change is exponentially increasing, knowledge does not stand still! It flows into the company, it flows out of it, it erodes; it gets created, and it flows to the customers in terms of product and service delivery, as well as its business ecosystem cross-boundarily. Knowledge management will empower the business workforce, and transform the modern business from static to dynamic, from efficient to agile, from functioning to delight.

Organizations today have to become highly responsive, dynamic, and hyperconnected. The trouble with many organizations is that they don't even know what they know. Data and information are available but what’s the best way to transform those data into valuable knowledge to the teams or company? Knowledge management is about understanding and improving knowledge usage at minimal cost in a way that fits the strategy of the business the best, and empowers people to solve problems effectively.

Optimize idea development and management: Most good ideas emerge from interactions, not single individuals, therefore, communication, collaboration, and coordination are necessities for keeping idea flow and improving idea management effectiveness. Good ideas nearly never emerge spontaneously. They need to seed and mature. Quality is in everything people do and experience: organizational quality management is the cross-functional responsibility.

What is required is clarifying the purpose and engaging all the people involved working together as a team to excel in the delivery of product/service, quality management is to help them in doing what they are doing better, easier.
