Organization today is hyper-connected and interdependent, like the switch in its digital ecosystem keeps evolving, connecting with its environment dynamically.

The business ecosystem is complex nowadays, surviving and thriving upon exponential growth of information, fierce competitions, and continuous disruptions requires innovativeness, agility, and resilience, etc.

It needs a clear vision to inspire and imagination to spark. It is imperative that we are willing to seek out fresh insight, break down silos, improve organizational agility and resilience.

Being forethoughtful to make organizations more agile and strategic in building organizational long term advantage: Planning and implementation today are not linear steps, but a dynamic business continuum. After setting a clarified vision, diagnose critical business problems. What exactly the problem is depends on perspectives of varying shareholders. A strategic planning-implementing scenario implies deciding major moves the organization must make now to be ready for the challenges of the future, improve business agility to not only adapt, but create momentum for driving changes holistically.

Business management should ponder: "How agile are we?" Agile is not really something that gives the answers, it is a mindset to focus on incrementalism, improvement, interaction. It’s more about something that continues to shape the right questions and make incremental improvement. Being strategic helps the business leaders to think about the long term; those strategic intents cannot be detailed and fixed. As feedback is gathered, values will shift. Agile needs to be the philosophy to perceive multidimensional business values. Take efforts at the portfolio level to quantify value in terms of both strategic value and tactical value. Running a high-effective organization that measures the right things and continually adjusts to shifting context will create optimal value-delivery.

Improving organizational inclusiveness and innovation: Business working environment today is diversified in many aspects such as diversified talent, the mixed bag of old and new technology & methodologies, quality information & outdated, the varying management disciplines and practices. Being innovative is a growth mindset and a proactive attitude. There are all kinds of differences that exist between individuals, teams, industries, geographical regions, etc. The focus of inclusiveness needs to focus on perceptions, competencies, experiences in bridging a variety of gaps and improving collective competencies.

Being innovative means you need to get used to stepping outside that old box to unfamiliar territory, be inclusive for embracing diverse viewpoints and interact with others to share and implement great ideas. Inclusiveness nurtures innovation. Inclusive leaders and professionals are able to embrace a multitude of viewpoints and the wealth of ideas. If you don't trust inputs from others, how do you innovate? Keep intellectually curious, always think profoundly, learn new things, and develop integral capabilities, make ideas succeed by breaking down outdated rules, harnessing heterogeneous group interactions, connecting interdisciplinary dots, and making a high level of innovation impact.

Increasing organizational balance and ambidexterity:
We are destined to look forward, and in doing so, see both the past and the future in front of us. Many organizations today are running in between - the mix of old and new; the different divisions within an organization evolve changes with different speed. So you have to learn the hard way to improve management effectiveness if you have both a listening and telling organization; build centralized and decentralized management disciplines, take personalized and standardized products/service development approaches. Business leaders today need to envision and understand the holistic picture via different lenses, balance is an important ability to optimize management and improve leadership maturity.

Every large corporation has tension in it, between the forces for competition and collaboration. By taking a balanced management approach, the business management is able to keep the big picture in mind, while coordinating the disparate silos of business development. Too much control causes inflexibility, even stifles business changes and growth. Too little oversight leads to lack of prioritization. An effective organization with balanced viewpoint and management discipline can establish more sustainable and transformational capabilities based on key dimensions such as scope, alignment, design, execution, governance, etc.

Organization today is hyper-connected and interdependent, like the switch in its digital ecosystem keeps evolving, connecting with its environment dynamically. It has to build dynamic competency proactively; presents the recognizable digital rhythm to keep the business moving forward with the right pace and drive business transformation steadfastly.
