Initiatelogicalargument

Debating is not for stimulating conflicts, but for brainstorming better ways to do things.

Due to the changing nature of technology, IT leadership roles also continue to involve & shift the focus, to move up the maturity level. More and more CIOs are requested to take more responsibility and many CIOs present the breadth of leadership competency.

The proactive IT debates help IT leaders to brainstorm better ways to do things and improve management capabilities. Here are the monthly CIO debates collections about envisioning digital IT leadership and running high-performance digital IT organizations.

Initiate Logical Argument

Initiatelogicalargument The world is still full of arguments artistically, scientifically, economically, politically, and religiously. An argument with clarified logic underneath seeks to change a concept, perspectives, ideas, intended to persuade and provoke actions, with or without a final satisfying outcome! There is some logic underneath the augments.

Initiate Arguments to Open One’s Mind An argument seeks to change a concept, perspective, idea, and provoke action. With or without a final satisfying outcome! Some ideas may be worth spreading. The argument is an investment of time, by two contrasting sparks, positive vs. negative, right vs. wrong, good vs. bad, etc. Are there benefits of conflict? If so under what circumstance? In what arena? Thought? Communication? Is our necessity for agreement rooted in egocentrism. Or is dialog more effective when contrasted with opposing views? Can making arguments help open one’s mind?

Insight of Good, Bad, and Ugly of Argument The argument is “an exchange of diverging or opposite views, typically a heated or angry one; a reason or set of reasons given with the aim of persuading others that an action or idea is right or wrong.” (dictionary.com). The world is still full of arguments geographically, scientifically, economically, politically, and religiously. Is the argument healthy or toxic? What's the good, bad, and ugly perspective of argument?

Illuminateparadoxicallogic Our world becomes over complex with blurred territories and overwhelming growth of information. The paradox is the result of two opposing truths existing side by side, which can be both right.

Can you Make a Leap of IT Digital Transformation via Healthy Debating Due to the exponential growth of information and disruptive nature of digital technologies, IT is at the crossroad: Should IT continue to be run as an “isolated function,” just keep the lights on, and gradually become irrelevant? Or should IT reinvent itself to become the change agent of the business? It is the time to reimagine IT via inspiring critical and creative thinking and spurring healthy debating. Because debating is a type of critical thinking activity. Critical thinking is a basic form of organized thought specifically used to frame the right questions, identify the real problems, and discover better ways to do things.
