The journey of business transformation is a bumpy journey with many ups and downs, curves and twists. It could be misled because of the wrong focus, the wrong assumptions, the wrong ends, and the wrong means.

Organizations and their people must learn through their interactions with the business environment, and shape a harmonized vision about the future of the organization. They are able to apply their learning, act, observe the consequences of their actions, make inferences about those consequences, and draw implications for future actions. The purpose of building an agile organization is on deliverable quality, improving business performance, delighting customers, engaging employees, and catalyzing innovation, with the ultimate goal to reach the next level of business agility.

It’s important to incorporate the means and end of information management, and track path-dependent factors in leading business success: Information does not stand still, the boundary of information domains has a blurred scope, it is path-dependent, and expanded in the continual base. It’s important to gain insight into the condition or dependency of capabilities to improve business coherence and focus on building long-term business competency. You need to not only refine information, assimilate the existing knowledge, but also have to keep updating knowledge, generate new knowledge and become the knowledge value creator to benefit your organization.

The digital shift is a mindset shift, which comes with information shift, a shift in which organizations will take advantage of information to gain knowledge and insight. The effectiveness of information management directly impacts on business performance. The key point is to make sure the “system-of-interest” is defined to establish the flexible business boundary and the properties that interact with the environment dynamically, and ensure the information system is purposeful and functional to improve business agility.

Companies need to have an in-depth understanding of the gains and pains of organizational design and development: Organization structure and its impact on agility and efficiency could play either positive or negative impact on business effectiveness, agility, and culture proposition. Organizational design needs to be understood holistically and applies “simplicity” principles to reconfigure its own structure and change its own behavior during the execution of its adaptation to environmental changes. Ideally, organizational hierarchy, and relationship structure wrap around each other to ensure responsibility, enhance accountability.

Figure out how well the organizational structure design impacts communication effectiveness, information fluidity, customer centricity, etc, to ensure the business as a whole is superior to the sum of pieces. The organizational design is not only in alignment with the organizational "culture," but also helps to cultivate the culture of learning and innovation. It’s important to balance the art and science that goes back and forth between design and modeling in order to manage business management cycles effectively and improve the organizational maturity effortlessly.

The more effortlessly you can optimize the organizational structure, align, integrate, and optimize the important business factors inside an organization, the closer you can accelerate performance.
