Irrational

It's the logic to knit things up in the right way and make them useful in solving problems effectively.

Nowadays people are complex, businesses are complex, societies are complex, and the management activities are complex as well. In many organizations, miscommunication, misinterpretation or misunderstanding is prevailing and leads to conflict and malfunction unsurprisingly. How to identify irrational thoughts, inflexible processes, irresponsible actions, in order to prevent the business from getting stuck at ineffective management, and move forward to lead radical change?

Inflexible business bureaucracy:
Generally speaking, the larger the organization and inputs are, the larger the amount of 'rules' are necessary for its functions. Bureaucracy is often caused by a silo mentality, “command & control” management style with overly rigid rules or structures, incoherent business processes, etc. When productivity is low and synergy is missing; when people are not working across the organizations to solve the real problems but set the restrictions to stifle innovation or build “comfort zones” to enhance silo, they create friction to changes, enforce inflexible business bureaucracy, and cause organizational stagnation.

In order to lead innovative change, the organization must battle bureaucracy, understand innovation as a process, a management discipline, and be capable of building differentiated organization-wide competencies.

Irrational thoughts & problem-solving: In many circumstances, people assume that they follow rational problem solving scenarios, but, in fact, their experience tells them that we observe highly technical and rational people acting on impulses/gut feeling or so-called “irrational thought” in spur of moments to become part of problems.

In reality, actually many of the difficulties in problem solving come from subtle psychological factors; irrational mentality and illogical solutions increase business risks and stifle progress. It’s always important to accomplish change and solve problems by identifying the pain points through cognitive understanding, well-developed processes, and effective risk management approaches.

Irresponsible behavior, change inertia caused by disconnected or distant layers of silos or inflexible management hierarchy: Change inertia makes many people reluctant to make the move until a disruption or unexpected events causing damages. One of the biggest challenges to overcome the culture inertia or irresponsible mentality & behavior is to cultivate a proactive attitude, and humble attitude and step-wise actions. So change inertia can be minimized via common understanding about the necessity and imperatives of changes.

Behavior is a manifestation of attitude, attitude results from the thoughts and mind: illogical thoughts cause irresponsible behaviors directly or indirectly. Behavior can be changed either through operational adjustment or through transformative shifts in thoughts or beliefs that result from looking inward and reflecting. People become more creative and learning agile, a progressive change process can commence, organizations become agiler, innovative and flexible.

Often, irrational mentality and illogical solutions are reality. It's the logic to knit things up in the right way and make them useful in solving problems effectively. You can give most people skills easily when compared to trying to develop their ability, attitude, flexibility, intelligence to think profoundly, behave properly, act smartly and produce great outcomes consistently.
